Hi all:
After being gone for about eight years from the gaming world I find out that I can come back to it. No, I was not in prison and I was not captured and held for ransom, I was just sailing the west coast of Central and South America on my boat. Last summer I had the good fortune to go out and purchase a 'throwaway laptop' for Internet access and photo editing while in anchorages or at port. To make a long story short, I have come to find out that the laptop scene has changed rather dramatically since I gave up the land-based desktop rig to play games on. Now not only can the new laptops play all the games but there are serious desktop replacements in the lineup! A far cry from the two laptops I use for navigation. Now one great (top end) gaming rig is less than the price of the two good laptops I purchased for navigation eight years ago. I have been doing my homework on whom to order from.
Not only have I gone out and found out about Sager and the other customization companies but also about their resellers. XoticPC came out the winner by far. Not only do they offer an additional two years of labor warranty, but they have received raves for their customer service. I looked through all the XoticPC forums and found that the people that have ordered from XoticPC have kept coming back to have questions answered and to help out the newbies. That is great and it is a very nice thing that this community of laptop owners have done. Thanks XoticPC.
I will be ordering a Sager 5793 in June when I return to the USA for a visit with friends and relatives. I would have gone for the 9262 but I have to be able to run it efficiently from 12 volts. Who knows, maybe in a year or so this will end up as the photo editor for my wife (she hopes...) and I can get the next latest and greatest from XoticPC?
:D
