I know, I've checked out the site and love the deals. If I can get a good commission or two in at my job I plan to buy direct like that.
However, since used obviously sells for less, I have potential to get more bang for my buck.
My issue with the price range the website and I meet at though is that I'd prefer two of the following three:
460M graphics card or better.
1920x1080 screen.
17" screen.
For instance, Best Buy has refurbished Asus with 6790 (Or 6970? I've been out of the game awhile) for $999.00 but resolution and screen size are meh.

Buying used notebooks with no warranty is a roll of the dice. Are you a gambler or do you want to play it safe?

You will not get any of those specs for 900 dollars, even used for at least the next 6 months. A refurbed best buy unit is worse than the one I posted.

Not likely to happen for $999. Do you have a monitor already? If so go with a 15.6" screen and output the laptop to the monitor via DVI. If, your willing to go a little higher then $1000 look at the Sager NP8130. It has the smaller screen, but 1080P and a 460M for I believe $1267 (cash discount). It has good solid specs at the base and you would be much happier going with a new laptop then gamble on a refurb unitat the price you mentioned.
