Do most Linux live cd distros support the wireless adapter or do I have to buy an approved one? I use Ubuntu, Backtrack, and PHLAK most often.

I have a relatively new 9262 (got it in June this year) and the ubuntu distro Kubuntu found almost everything, yes even the built in wireless. It did miss the correct nVidia chip set, M8800 GTX, as it is so new. However, with a little checking, I found one that works very well available at the nvidia web page. So no fear! Go for it. I use two disks, a 250GB for Windows Vista Ultimate, and a 160GB for Kubuntu.
It would be a good idea to have two different OS's on your rig as the chances of a Virus that takes down 90% of the PC's in the world, a Windows variation, and taking down a Linux distro at the same time would be slim, or none.

Awesome, I'm glad i won't need to buy an adapter to get wireless.
