This media refresh includes the installation hotfix described in KB Article 2534111 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2534111). No other changes have been made to the product.

This fixes a major problem with the previous ISO,otherwise they didn't change what defines SP1.

Here's your chance to get the ISO to make yourself a new full Windows 7 DVD or USB Installation Disk that contains Service Pack 1.This ISO appeared on MSDN and TechNet for subscribers on May 12,2011.

Remember to remove ei.cfg from the Sources folder of the unpacked ISO in order to use your installation disk to install other versions besides Ultimate.

No,you need to use the Microsoft Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool to unpack the ISO onto the USB stick.

After it's unpacked onto the USB stick, open the files on the USB stick and remove ei.cfg from the Sources folder so the USB stick can be used to install other versions of Windows 7 besides Ultimate.

I'm pretty much a rookie when it comes to Windows installations, but I have a quick question: the computer I'm currently running has Win 7 Home Premium, from when it first came out. I am planning on formatting soon - my product could works with this SP1 installation, correct?

If Windows 7 is able to run on your notebook then Windows 7 with SP1 should have no forseeable problems.

SP1 is an update to the version of Windows 7 that was released on Oct 22,2009 and contains all the updates since then and the date the Service Pack was finalized.

There's new Windows 7 with SP1 ISO download links.

If it's an Intel CPU and Chipset:

During the clean install of Windows 7 install the Intel RST software at the add driver screen or as soon as the installation completes.

Also install the Intel chipset software when the installation completes before installing the Graphics,Sound,Wireless etc drivers and software

Thanks Smog, but I'm still unclear if my Win7 product key works with the newer Win7 SP1 installation. It should work just fine, correct? (Assuming, of course, I use my Home Premium key with the Home Premium installation).

Yes,your Windows 7 Home Premium key will work with 32bit and 64bit installations of Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1.
