I will be posting an ongoing experience of ordering from XoticPC.

I recently ordered a Sager NP8130 from XoticPC (with the GTX 560M, aw yeahhh).

Here's the record:

June 9th: Ordered late at night, obviously no one working so...

June 10th: Order was processed now since no one working last night, however my retard mom (for some reason) purposely use a credit card she knew wouldn't work. So some problems there. Had to go sort something out at the bank.

June 10th: Fixed problem, Order Pending Payment.

June 13th: Send an email as to why the status hasn't been changed. Obviously it's the weekend though.

June 13th: Receive email that I need to call to provide more information or something. However I'm absent at this time.

June 14th: My mom calls, tells me (via text) that they want me to call to verify something about the order. Idk how she knows this since she doesn't have the order number.

June 14th: Finally leave the thing I'm at. Too late (at night) to call. Ugh.

Hopefully I'll call tomorrow.

When they ask you to call what is it they are typically asking for?

I'll also be out of the house for a few days soon so I don't want the laptop delivered then (have it stolen by someone). That would be annoying.

Is it possible to ask them to delay shipping it out until next tuesday?

The record goes on...

Oh by the way, they also posted this:

For your information:

For Sager Orders where the customer resides in California, Xotic PC will cover the added shipping expense to have your machine sent into our Nebraska facility to avoid California Taxes (by default). Please note the additional shipping phase. If a customer prefers to pay the California Tax, this can be set up by request. Please let us know as soon as possible if you prefer to pay sales tax.

Your order has been sent for payment processing, and an update will be sent once your payment is completed or if there are any problems with processing your payment.

Because stock availability changes daily, we will confirm availability to the best of our ability and send you a status update.

June 10th.

You let them know by email if you want them to ship directly to california right?

when i ordered my laptop from xoticpc, they called me up to verify that all the specs i chose for my laptop were correct. its basically a courtesy call to make sure the customer and xoticpc are on the same page about the specifics of what was ordered.

im guessing this step prevents situations, like for example you getting your laptop and realizing that the amount of ram isnt correct, or the HD u chose isnt the one installed, or the wireless card u chose isnt right, etc.

by the way, dont feel bad about the CC thing. there was an issue with my card too. they sent me a message telling me to clear it up with my bank. i had to call my bank to tell them that it was indeed me charging $1300 to the card and to let the charge go through the next time. then i had to call xoticpc back and tell them the issue is fixed and to put the payment through again. no more issues with CC after that.

give em a call back :)

as for delivery, i think its a signature-required delivery. which means they cant just leave your package on your doorstep. the only way they could release the package is with a signature. otherwise they have to lug it back to their truck and attempt to redeliver again. since you arent gonna be home, you could definitely have somebody else in your household sign for and take your package inside. i wasnt home when my laptop arrived and but luckily my uncle was over and he signed for it.

the main stickler is the amount of buisiness days it can take, i ordered a sager, which can take 3-12 buisiness days to get going before shipped, right now its been 6 buisiness days, hopefully it ships soon, im crawling on the ceiling here!

yes, if u dont mind paying the extra money due to california tax, then u email them ASAP and arrange it that way. but by default, they have it shipped to their nebraska center and they cover cost it takes for that part of the shipping. however if you dont direly need the laptop quicker, id suggest saving your money, not paying the cali tax, waiting just a lil bit longer, and just let the laptop travel its normal course to you.

Yeah, that courtesy call is our confirmation call for the order. If you'd like, feel free to contact me or any of the sales advisors (especially if you had spoken to one of us prior to the order) and we'd be happy to assist with whatever questions you need answered. :)

Edit: Also, shipping to Nebraska from Cali is a pretty common thing. Note that it can add about 4 business days to your order. It usually takes around that long to ship.

Ok anyways, I guess it's time for an update.

Update:

June 15th: I'm semi-sleeping in my bed when I get a call from XoticPC, of course semi-sleeping at the time I didn't want to take it.

June 15th: Shortly after that I get up and return the call. It turns out that XoticPC was in fact just doing a confirmation call. They also had received my email detailing all the specifications so there was no need to talk about that. They also informed me that the California Tax that I wished to pay would in fact be o-... a lot of money. But I said ok anyways. They also informed me that the other accessories I ordered would of course be shipped from a different location. Also they told me that they received my request to ship it out no earlier than June 21st (next Tuesday).

So after all this was confirmed she naturally told me that they would send an update once billing went through (for the taxes I think) or perhaps for other things.

And that's it.

Bang.

Why on EARTH would pay Cali tax when you do not have to?!?! That's just CRAZY!!

2nd- UPS Ground is required to try and deliver your package AND get your signature.
If you are not home on the first attempt, they (UPS) will leave a note telling you to call them, once you have called them they DO NOT need a siganature for 2nd delivery.

NEW UPDATE.

June 15th: I receive an email:

"

New status: Phase 2 (Sent for Custom Building / Testing / Burn In & Final QA)
Some additional notes placed on your order:

Thank you for your order confirmation. Your payment has been processed, and your order is now approved.

As requested, we have added the CA sales tax to your order, and Sager will ship your machine directly to your location. We have also notated that your order will not be shipped until June 20th or later.

Normal production times are estimated at 3-12 business days currently; however, variables can cause production to be extended. Your account will be updated with shipping information when available (normally same day of or next day following shipment). Please reply to verifications@xoticpc.com (https://mail.google.com/mail/h/13afi4ziowwwj/?v=b&cs=wh&to=verifications@xoticpc.com) if you have any delivery concerns.

Please note that production times are estimates. We do not guarantee exact production times. If rush production is requested or required a rush fee may be added upon customer confirmation.

Thanks
Xotic PC

*fist pump*

The most interesting part is that the email says Sager will ship the machine directly to me. My guess is that this means the upgrades I ordered are done by Sager. But for more unorthodox upgrades that Sager does not support the machine is shipped to the Nebraska facility of XoticPC and the upgrade is done there, plus testing etc.

Great news! The shipping will be faster. Furthermore the email says that production will take 3-12 business days. Sweet. The XoticPC website says that computers moved into Phase 2 after 1 PM CST will start production the following day (or maybe that's only for Nebraska). I'm pretty sure I received this email after 1 PM.

Meaning that the computer starts tomorrow, Thursday. So perhaps they would normally even not be able to ship the computer out by Monday (given that's it's 3 business days minimum, even though it's an estimate, lol).

Yay.

All's good.

ya on the sagers xotic rarely does anything with the hardware unless its a really wierd upgrade or like having them do an ssd sager doesnt offer stock.

xotic also obviously does all the custom skin jobs and painting.

Yeah, looking at your sig, I didn't see anything that should go to XoticPC to be upgraded.
Soooo....yeah it should come straight from Sager...in California...

The laptop arrived yesterday. Very satisfied with it, it's very fast. I'll post the specifications later although I believe they're already in some other part of the forum.

I'll be posting some final thoughts, gameplay footage and a retelling of how it was packed (done by Sager).

It came fast because I live in California.
