Justin,

I see that you are now offering 2 9800M GTX in SLI with 2048mb VRAM. Has this been tested? I had read somewhere that those cards could not use more than 1024mb. I am interested in whether there is really a performance boost in doing that versus using a single 9800M GTX (1024mb).

When cards are running in SLI or Crossfire (ATi cards) you don't add the VRAM. The effective VRAM is only equal to the VRAM of each card, not double what each card has. So your effective VRAM with a pair of 1GB 9800GTX cards would be 1GB, not 2GB.

This is the reason why the AMD 4870 X2 card is faster than two 4870 cards in crossfire. The X2 comes with 1GB per GPU while the 4870 single GPU card comes with 512GB.

That said, 1GB is a lot.

There will definitely be heat. It probably won't be an issue as long as you don't try to put it on your lap.

If it's worth it is really a personal choice. You could almost buy two fully equipped 9800GT laptops for the price of a single laptop equipped with a pair of 9800GTX cards so it depends on what you want.

A single 9800GT will run just about anything out today at high to max settings with very smooth frame rates but there are new games coming out this winter which may change that. No way to tell until they're released and benchmarked.

I am interested too. It is hard to find laptop benchmarks compared to desktop benchies.

Comes out in Q3 2009, it will be able to play Crysis at 1920 x 1200 at very high settings at one trillion fps. It does get rather warm, though (at least so I've heard) I also heard that its made of carrots, does magic tricks, and can clean your house.

It will also groom your pets, do your grocery shopping, and with a free downloadable content pack from nvidia, it will go to work and make money for you. Depending on whether you get the XXX Special Black X Edition or the XXX Triple Black X Special Red XXX Shark X Edition, it either comes with a Masters or Doctorate degree from Harvard.

I also heard it can make your girlfriend stop talking, but thats just a rumor as of right now.

Well you also need to be prepared to buy your own personal line from the power company, as it runs on about 4.3 jigawatts of electricity. And although you dont need it, you're going to want to buy some coolant. I recommend getting a shipment of ice crystals from Pluto, and make sure its a large amount, or you'll run out quickly.

Also, you'll need a new mobo, as it can only run on PCIe 5.0. It does support DDR3 RAM at the moment, but to unleash it's true power and not be bottlenecked, you'll need at least DDR16 or later. Also, a dual core processor wont even be close to cutting it, you'll need at least 42 cores at at least 6.0 Ghz. And more coolant for that.

LOL! Power supply is a Mr. Fusion.

It doesn't have a power supply, it runs on its own built in star. That's right, a star. But it needs to be fueled, hence the dedicated powerline running to it running on 4.3 jigawatts. The star has a slightly higher concentration of hydrogen than the sun, and even though it is packed into an 11 nm chip, it burns 4x hotter. This is why you need the ice crystals.

Also, new rumer just in: They're going to release a refresh edition, the XXX Triple Black X Special Red XXX Shark X Overclocked X Supercharged 720 Degree XX Nitro Mustang Incredible Hulk XXX Mean Machine Warrior Zombie Pirate X Ninja Robot XX Batman Turbo Lightning XXX Pro Anti-Gravity Core Edition, which will be able to create images so real that you can interact with them. Feel like punching Bill Gates in the face? You're only a click away! And it will run at refreshing 15 trillion degrees. Bring your suntan lotion!

P.S. This conversation has gotten to a rediculous level lol...

As soon as Sager gets a big enough shipment of unicorns to go along with them as accessories.

Unfortunately there was an accident today at the testing center for the new power supply....

That's not a black hole. Those webcams require that you have the latest version of the 280M GTXXXXXXTXXXXXXXXX to view them, as the people on them have to actually step through your monitor to explain how they are doing in nvidia labs. It's also the newest stage in delivery technology, as UPS doesn't have to send products by plane anymore, they just reach through your monitor and give the product to you.

Whatever you do, do not watch anime with this video card in your system. You will regret it forever.

"Unfortunately, these cards are still on pre-order, so there is no benchmarking information available yet. Also, the effectiveness of SLI will depend on the specific application." :-)

(And no, anime damage will not be covered in the warranty.)

Thank you Brad, all of this information is correct. Nvidia does have prototype models, but there are no current benchmarking tools that are powerful enough to pick up any difference between one trillion and five trillion frames per second.

Also, in doing some research, as I know some of you may be troubled by the news of anime damage, I found out that the warrently will also not cover:
- Any damages pertaining to atmospheric ignition
- Any fines caused by the killing of polar bears due to extreme global warning
- Any medical bills resulting from skin, lung, brain, or any other type of cancer
- Any damage to the face or head due to being virtually shot while playing Crysis
- Any burns, severe or otherwise
- Any extreme social widthdrawl due to being too emersed in the game worlds offered
- Any excessive power bills
- Death

Further exemtions may be added in the future. Talk to your insurace policy owner to see if any of these things are covered.

EDIT: Confirmed that the 280M GTXXXXXXTXXXXXXXXX will be able to make your girlfriend stop talking.
