Hello,

I have been interested in the sager np9262 for a while, and wanted to buy one. However, I live in Lebanon, and few ship there. My question is if i bought it from here (XoticPC), can the laptop be shipped to Lebanon?

My second question is if i choose the "Custom Laptop Skins [Choose from our designs or your own Graphic or Logo
(Details of design made after order) (Will cause additional lead time on order)", how will the details of the design be chosen (through email...?)

Edit -
3rd question, is the laptop upgradeable (other than the ram and hdds)?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have been interested in the sager np9262 for a while, and wanted to buy one. However, I live in Lebanon, and few ship there. My question is if i bought it from here (XoticPC), can the laptop be shipped to Lebanon?

First, let me say hello and welcome. I also would like to send my sincere well wishes to the people of Lebanon.:)
Ah, the NP9262 (the beastie of the Sager line),:D I'm not sure about the shipping situation. Justin would best be able to help with that one. I went ahead and sent a note to Justin to make him aware of your shipping question. He should be able to reply to you shortly.

My second question is if i choose the "Custom Laptop Skins [Choose from our designs or your own Graphic or Logo
(Details of design made after order) (Will cause additional lead time on order)", how will the details of the design be chosen (through email...?)

If having graphics done (skinning or painting), you will need to allow a little extra time, usually about 3 or 4 days. Skinning doesn't take as long as painting would obviously. The "details of design" bit is for painting only. With skins you just either choose the design from the library or if you do your own it has to be complete and just make sure its in at least 1280x720 resolution and email the image in to the service department either at the time of order or a couple of days after.

3rd question, is the laptop upgradeable (other than the ram and hdds)?

Thanks in advance.

The 9262 is upgradeable for the following: Ram, HDD and Video card.

You chose which picture you want from the library and insert it into the details section in your order, or if you want a different picture i believe you contact them by email, but im not sure on that one.

on your third question, when you chose the details of your laptop it will say "User upgradable" next to the option, I believe you can upgrade things like graphics cards as well as the HDD and ram. I'm not sure what else you can upgrade with out some tech expertise. Personally I would only touch ram/HDD/ and maybe graphics cards.

I hope some of this helped, I'm not sure about the shipping to Lebanon, sorry.

I just wanted to add that I believe the 9262 is also CPU-upgradeable with select desktop chips, given the new CPU does not exceed heat limits.

The desktop CPUs that the 9262 are the best so far, and no other laptop has better CPUs available.
Upgradeable : hdd, ram, cpu(between available choices), optical drives, and GPUs between the options aproved by Clevo, the max one being 9800M GTX SLI.

I almost bought the Sager np9262. That's all I thought about all summer working for $7.43 an hour cleaning offices, toilets, bathrooms, and parking cars in the car garage. And then I was struck by a reality lightning bolt - a bolt so strong that it changed my mind and the way I thought. Why was I going to spend an exorbitant amount of money for something that will get outdated in a year or two. So I chose to go with the np5796 not only for price but also for mobility, and instant gratification.

So you live in Lebonon? Fantastic. I believe Xoticpc does ship internationally. I remember when I was ordering my laptop I noticed that they had an international shipping price which although quite hefty (somewhere in the $250 range).

Yes, custom skins and graphics would slow down production. That is another department that they must send the laptop to where it gets "skinned" and since that took more time I chose to leave my laptops skin normal. I do believe that unless you pick from designs on xoticpc.com you have to contact xoticpc.com and tell them you are going to email you're decided custom logo. Of course that all takes time, extra steps and phases and in my opinion is not very practical even though you're sacrificing the asthetic beauty of your laptop. I still think the normal non skinned laptops look great. I would have to think that a cool looking laptop has about 5% chance more to be stolen than a plain looking laptop. If its flashy, and bright I wouldn't want to show it to too many people who would be like, "wow, I want that so I'll steal it when he's gone" if you were at a university like I am.

I won't comment on upgrades since I've never even owned a laptop much less a gaming laptop. I'm not in that position to tell you to open up you're laptop. I think that might void the warranty possibly. But its up to you what you do with you're laptop. Anyways keep us posted if you buy one and how long it takes to get to you in Lebanon. :))

Actually, believe it or not, skinning or painting the laptop decreases the chance of theft a little bit. If the thief wants to turn it around quickly, what fence in their right mind would want to handle a laptop that sticks out like a sore thumb that just screams that it's hot?
If your in a public place and a thief is bold enough to make a grab and dash run it would be his last because everyone would see it and know that it's your laptop because there would have already been conversation about the unique design before hand.
It's not perfect of course, but it is an added deterrent while at the same time giving your laptop a specialness about it.
Sure, one has to allow a couple of extra days or so for it, but that's the point. It's personal choice.

"Why was I going to spend an exorbitant amount of money for something that will get outdated in a year or two."

I cant imagine the 9262 being outdated in a year or 2. Especially with the new Nahalem chips coming out. The other Clevo's will be outdated sooner than the 9262, thats just my opinion though. :D

thanks for everyone who replied here.
I think i'll stick with the default skin. About choosing the NP9262 vs NP5976, i still have to think about that. I choose the NP9262 because i do not want to buy a new laptop once it is outdated every year or so, but i think that is inevitable. Now about shipping to Lebanon, there are two choices, the UPS International Shipping, and the USPS International Shipping. Which one do you guys think i should choose?

And another question, what if the product shipped but didn't arrive to me, what would happen?
Sorry for these questions, but i have never bought anything from outside Lebanon to be shipped here, except the Vista Upgrade DVD for my current laptop, which i forgot about after ordering it because it took too long (i think 3 months+).

Thanks in advance

You won't be able to drop one of these new chips in a 9262 unless you change out the entire inside assuming Clevo makes a new model with a compatible motherboard.

The new CPUs will require a new chipset motherboard and DDR3.

By this time next year I wouldn't be surprised if there's a new version of this notebook based on the new Intel technology.

The 9262 will be limited to currently available LGA 775 socket chips and DDR2.

That doesn't mean that it will be outdated Woody. It will still be a beast for quite a while. A newer version will just make the current 9262 second best. Single core processors are outdated, not the current most powerfull and only non-mobile cpu laptop on the market. After another year the D901c will not outdated, with or without the release of the new Clevo's.

I never said you had to or were going to spend an exorbitant amount of money. I just decided not to spend $5500 on a laptop when after I get out of college I might want something different and maybe it'll be the 9262 but for now I'm satisfied with the np5796. Technology is always growing but of course you know that. Anyways I think as fast as technology is growing I'm sure there'll be something faster and better in 3 years. :D

I concur :-)
And $5,500 is a whole lotta money. Mine was $3,100 and my heart skipped a few beats when i hit the confirm payment button lol. I definatley have no regrets except that I should have placed my order a couple weeks later so I coulda got the q9650 with GTX in sli. Still a beast though.

Lol, I know it took me the entire summer to save that load of cash up. My car cost only $1000 bucks in comparison, so I was nervous when I even wired $3500 from my checking account. That is the most expensive thing I've bought and paid for all at once. But I'm sure its going to last me awhile and its exactly what I like.

You do have a beast there though. But isn't the np9262 like 13lbs? If I bought the np9262 for the amount that I was going to originally it really would have been an impulsive move on my part. For some reason my brain seems to block everything else out when I see something I want and I don't think about my other bills and that I do need to save money. Anyways I am glad I was able to get a beast of a laptop and save money as well.

Back to the original posted question about shipping.
Yes Michel, XoticPC can ship to Lebanon. As for the second part of your question, it would be better to ask Justin. You can drop him a PM or call.
