The TEW-692GR is the first router to support 450Mbps speeds on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously. This router's raw horsepower redefines wireless networking as we know it, to easily stream HD videos throughout your home and much more.

It seems that we can conclude that the TEW-692GR is just a TEW-691GR with 5GHz wireless-N strapped into it. The TEW-692GR retails at US$135(Amazon,Newegg), compared to the TEW-691GR which retails at US$98.92 - a difference of $36. It would definitely be appealing to those who would want to expand their wireless home networking to triple-stream 5GHz wireless-N.
It is recommended that clients use similar type of wireless adapters to achieve maximum throughput. So far, 450Mbps dual-band wireless adapters are getting their way into the market; we can see latest notebooks being equippied with 450Mbps dual band wireless adapters from Intel, Ralink, Broadcom, Atheros etc.
It would be great if TRENDnet were to add USB shareport to the router - a nice feature which is seriously found lacking in its products. The TEW-692GR does deliver in both routing and wireless throughput
