When the fan kicks in on my NP8660 power brick... the smell is nauseating... like a melting plastic/burning smell. Obivously when the fan is off... there is no smell at all. Is this normal and is there anything I can do about it?

How long have you had your NP8660?
At any rate, stop using the power brick immeadiately! If you continue to try to use it you could fry your computer! Call XoticPC and tech support straight away!!!!

I second Anewbus... your computer should (hopefully) be fine - but your power brick is obviously not, so I wouldn't risk it!

At any rate, you do need to call XoticPC. It should be covered by warranty. I would call XoticPC, they will help you. Do not use it! It sounds like the powerbrick is defective.
