Hopefully before Christmas, that would be awesome. It depends on when our new building gets done and whether or not we'll get an ample supply of desktop parts in :)

More than likely I think we'll be waiting till after the new year as we'll need some time to get everything set up.

Any recent pictures of the building construction?

I think that adding another manufacturer to the notebook offerings and a notebook parts store might be better than venturing into the desktop market.

I don't see any of the competition with a notebook parts store.

Very true.

I'll have to ask Hutsady if he's taken any more pictures. They've got all the siding installed though, so it actually has walls now :P

Finally we'll have a parking lot large enough to park all of our cars in.

A suggestion if you do this... sell some quality bare bones systems for us lazy geeks. A decent case, motherboard, processor. I'll slap in my video, drives, power supply, memory and other bits. Or maybe just set your system up where I can pick from a custom list and end up with a bare bones like that.

Not sure if I'm your average geek but what has been keeping me from upgrading is the time and effort of ording all my individual bits, assembling and reloading. If 3/4 of the work was done for me I'd probably upgrade.

I agree, I'd like to see another manufacturer added to the notebook offerings.

My parents regularly invite me to go tailgating at the "fanbulance" whenever we have a home game :D

Edit: I jokingly asked my mother if it turns into the "waambulance" whenever we lose. She didn't like that.

A little birdie from XoticPC tells me that the Desktops will be available as soon as February. He also told me that they will be doing custom Paint Jobs.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope these aren't the only upgrades that will be available in February!

C'mon already! I've been eating my fingernails in suspense :)

Finally a reliable and trustworthy manufacturer for high-end GAMING desktops.
(Wished that companies that specialize in gaming electronics like Razer had reliable durable products like XoticPC!)

I am waiting for desktops as well to order one for a family member. I estimate I'll be wanting to order up in about 3 months. How about throwing us a small bone at least?

Hey Justin W and Justin N. I still have that laptop you see in my sig and it's still just humming along exscept for the battery, but I'll see about doing something about that later. I think my lappy is about 5 years old now? I have not had to replace anything. Now that's a quality build!!! You'll never get staying power like that from a store shelf lappy or a Dell!:XPC::notworthy

Curious on the progress on Desktops. I was told Monday may have some more information but that has come and gone.

:XPCS: Hey All!

I'm new to the forums posting as I'm sure you may notice, but I would like to send an update on this to shed a little light. I know many of you have been patiently waiting, and we do appreciate your patience more than you know. :D

I don't think there is an exact launch date yet, but the tedious task of updating online options for desktops etc. is underway and progressing quickly. If you're thinking of upgrading from your current rig and can spare just a bit more time, please hang in there. I'll be speaking with the website manager to try to get you some more information. Thank you for your dedication and willingness to contribute to our forums.

It's E for short Powerpack, and there's some fine-tuning in the works, but we are "preparing to launch" so to speak. No definite information yet as far as a launch date, but we've definitely been able to focus on this and we're excited for the upcoming events :smile2:

kinda curious what the shipping costs would be for a serious rig.
My HAF-X weighs more than me...

I would speculate probably about twice as much as current shipping costs. We may have to work some trials in before pricing is concrete on the website.

The shipping media that we are experimenting with is pretty good, too. Really unique, and it should allow us to ship equipment with almost no fear, no matter where it is going.

I received the first desktop built by XoticPC in late February - it's great, though my wife thinks it's going to launch a capsule to Mars with the blue lights and all.
It came about because of an ASUS laptop which I bought from Xotic in November and which spent more time at ASUS and Xotic than it ever did with me. In the end Joseph uncovered the intermittent disabling fault (faulty Western Digital 1TB hard drives) and Xotic really came through and replaced the machine and got it to me (at my expense!) before I left for a two week vacation at the end of the last year. I was so impressed that I said that it was a pity that they did not sell desktops as I needed a replacement for one. He then told me about the move and the desktop production line. As he was leaving at the end of last year he put me in touch with Roland (who asked to be linked to this email, but I can't work out how to do that) who said that they could build one to order as they were all set up. So I sent him my requirements and he came up with a spec (a top of the line job) in January and after a bit of a wait it arrived in late February and I am very pleased with it, as, although the tower is a little larger than I would have liked it is absolutely silent, which is a major plus when you live in a small New York apartment, and will not overheat.

The decision for me was between ordering an HP and dealing with someone from India on the phone and if neccessary dealing with the unknowledgeable local people they send out or talking directly with someone from Xotic who knows what they are talking about and opening the box myself to carry out the instructions.

Everyone I have spoken to at Xotic has been very helpful and, after the laptop was replaced, I was thanked for my patience (I didn't think I was very patient, particularly at having to send the machine back two or three times, some of it at my own cost) and I think the guys who work for the company are great - I am a fan!

Hello godfreyb+,

Happy you liked that rig. It was a pleasure building it for you. You have a monster rig that isn't likely to fail on you anytime soon.

As for your inquiry about S/N: 00000000000001, I am still looking into that.

Well, now that the cat is out of the bag I can say: I hate to break the news to you Godfrey, but I beat you to it by a few months.:D:biggrin: I think I got mine around October/November last year.

I had the superstars at XoticPC do me the huge enormous favor of building me a desktop before the subject was breeched. I used to build my own desktops, but have grown tired of dealing with that. I was so impressed with my laptop build from Xotic (which by the way is still going strong 5 years later), that I just had to see if they would build me a desktop. How this happened is a long story, but suffice it to say I earned it so to speak, plus the kindness of Justin N. Justin teamed me up with Joseph Lee. I did a lot of research myself and Joseph and I went over my spec requirements and such. He also had some great ideas saving me some headache and a bit of money. What I ended up with is an uber desktop PC all in one hell of an Antec case recommended to me by Joseph and what a recomendation it was! Best case ever! What was pleasently surprising is the shipping cost of this behemoth sporting two hotswap HDDs amongst other insane parts and the biggest CPU cooler you've ever seen:eek:, was not too much more than a laptop.
It is one hell of a build! It was expertly built by XoticPC, they even made neat work of the wiring! Just could not ask for a finer job or config.
My other dream will hopefully come true soon and that is having Xotic buld another desktop for a family member in about 3 months or so (Hopefully a full line of desktops will be offered by then).

Congrats on your build Godfrey! I bet you are just over-pleased!

(The specs you see in my sig are of my laptop).

No, they didn't lie to you at all! They did you a favor! It just so happened, they did one for me before you. I held back from saying anything for months because I didn't want a mad rush of people demanding desktops before they were ready to build them officially. (I realized later that I got mine done around August 2011). It was all done under the table and behind a screen so to speak.
You let the cat out, so I thought I'd just tease you a bit and let you know I had them build me one as a favor.:p So what, your second, big deal. The only important thing is that the best computer reseller in the world built a desktop for you and you have an uber rig to your liking that has a fabulous group of folks standing behind it!:XPCS::notworthy That's all that matters!
They will soon be offering the same thing to everyone! Just think of it, we in the know, have the best laptop and soon the best desktop reseller in the world! We took a chance and trusted them with our first purchase and we were blown away by how nice and knowledgable they are and the quality of everything and the support which is far and away above any other place out there in PC land! So it stands to reason that not only we would come to them ourselves for our needs in this area, but send others as well. That's what I have been trying to do for the last 5+ years ever since.

I would like a chance to clear our name and state it was the first build of the new year, first desktop build form the time I came to the company, it was the first computer I built for a client, and it was the first computer that I know of built before the idea of desktops was announced was coming soon. So it was the first for many different things. :smile2: And if you want to get technical, he wasn't the first as XoticPC offered desktops about 10 years ago!

Amen! Yes, Xotic used to offer desktops.
The XoticPC name was never in question or danger as far as I'm concerned. I guess (and did not know) that he would take it so seriously and make it a deal breaker, making a huge big deal where one does not exist. Good heavens! Xotic does have more than one customer, although I must say that when one talks with the good folks at Xotic they do make you feel like your their only customer. How many companies can say that? Hardly any these days if at all.
Congrats on joining the Xotic team Roland and on your first build for a customer. You've done Xotic and yourself proud!:smile2:

Thread cleaned up. :)
