Problems with 9890 overheating

Over the past couple of weeks my laptop has be turning off intermittently shutting down. I have installed a new game which I play a lot but I don't think the problem has to do with overheating entirely.

I have an nVidia 6800 card and I am using a base cooling fan in a well ventilated room. The system will shutdown entirely from time to time, sometimes when it isn't very hot at all.

Has anyone else been having a problem with their system shutting down?

Hello, Have you tried cleaning the air intakes out? It sounds as though you havent cleaned out the intakes, which can be clogged with dust. This would result in the machine in overheating with the limited air flow.

Yes I have made sure to clean out the air intakes and the fan areas with canned air. I thought the same thing when it first started happening so I made sure to thoroughly clean the intakes.
