Hey I just bought a sager 2096 with vista.
I have been having a problem with disc space. One day my space was 258 gbs than went down to 233 gbs. I never did anything in that one day. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get that space back.

How big is your hard drive? Windows uses a fair amount of disk space for normal operations. Things like system restore and hibernate. If the computer is new I doubt anything unusual is happening.

well i disabled hibernate and deleted the recent restore, that used like 4gb. my hard drive is 300gb, like today I'm at 230 gbs, yesterday i was at 234gbs. When i first installed windows and a game i was at 265 gbs. Since than i haven't done much with it.
Any ideas? I'll have the Campus geeks look at it and see whats up. Cause with my old laptop, this never happenend. Also noticed that the disk defragmentor takes away disc space instead of giving space.

Windows has done this for years, started in Win XP... just shows that Windows still isn't the most stable OS.
Don't worry about it, your space is infact there.

Get CCleaner and clean up the hard drive. It may be that your computer is crashing and restarting while you aren't looking, and the memory dumps are building up, since those are huge. Might be a virus, but if it is, thats a retarded virus, thats not malignant thats just annoying...

Now it would be even more annoying if it made 1kb files throughout the entire C drive, with hidden attributes and "convincing" (aka similar to real) names for them, as to make it harder for the user to remove. Hmmm, good idea ;) But really, use Linux, you won't have this problem!
