Ok I'm not sure if there's a thread on Xoticpc like this and since I'm too lazy to look for one similar I'm going to go ahead to post this thread. Maybe it will produce some interesting discussion. So I will start by saying how I came to find out about Sager and xoticpc.
I actually was researching (if I can call it that) laptops online and looking at reviews of Apple Laptops/desktops, Alienware systems, Newegg.com, and Googling extreme gaming laptops, among other things. I began watching Youtube reviews of people benchmarking their laptops and stumbled across someone running a game on a Sager 9260 force notebook. I liked the looks of the Sager laptops so I googled Sager since I had never heard of that brand and I was then directed to xoticpc.com and all you wonderfully knowledgeable, smart xotic pc people.
Well I suppose that eventually searching for a gaming laptop I would end up at least gaining knowledge of xoticpc.com anyways. Is it coincidence that I stumbled upon this great line of laptops? I think not. I think I found what I was looking for and more.
So with my encouragement just briefly or extensively tell your short or long story. I'm excited to see how people discovered this place!
;) :D

I was looking into an hp notebook and decided to research the video card that was in it (8700gt) I stumbled onto a website selling sagers and thought they were too good to be true. I little more research and I found the lowest priced sagers on the web... right here at xoticpc :)

I was IN THE PROCESS of ordering an alienware base system, since I only had a $1,500 credit card from them (ya i didnt get much in it lol) And I was browsing the notebookreview forums and people were suggesting other lappys to me and someone mentioned xoticpc so i came over here, and immediately cancelled my alienware order (which was still in preproduction, after 2 weeks lol) and now i'm waiting for my student refund from school so i can get my sager lappy, which farrr surpassed the AW systems. Plus, AW doesnt have 64-bit OS which is what sold me on NOT buying from them, lol.
Any of you ever read the AW horror stories? I would not want to take a 2-3,000$ risk on something like that.
I have learned more about computers and what the components are/differences are between 8800gt and 8700 gtx, etc during the time I was researching laptops than ever before. Plus xotic sells quality for a descent price.
xoticpc ftw! :XPCS::notworthy I havent even bought my lappy yet and I plan on purchasing from them for the rest of my laptop purchases :)

Well, I live in China and months ago, I'm a guy who thinks only Alienware produce gaming laptops. So I spent a lot of time doing "research" on AW. And I read a lot of bad comments on CNET, YouTube... So I begin to hesitate to purchase a Alienware Laptop.
And recnetly, I asked one of my friends:" Could you tell me some websites that I can customize laptops with high quality?" Then he told me Xoticpc.com. So I came. Hopefully, I found this site wonderful. People's are friendly and the service is great. The most important thing is, there are numerous amazing laptops here.:D
I have decided to purchase my dream laptops here. Really can't wait!:):)

I too associated hardcore gaming with Alienware and was seriously thinking about getting something from them, then went to a customer review site and saw page after page of horrible reviews and pissed off customers and I was then glad I didn't order through them. The it was just a matter of searching for badass laptops and this company was at the top of the list. The overwhelming number of positive reviews plus hardware kick-assery both influenced me to purchase here. Glad I did.

I discovered Sager/Clevo from Notebook review I also discovered XoticPC. There are a few other small specialty notebook company's I learned of. I think Alienware and DeLL gaming only stays in business because of advertising. I mean certainly not price or innovation. Both are still Santa Rosa? I mean not cutting edge and also both are over priced. ;)

Come on, ya gotta give alienware a little credit. they just released their new notebook, which has the same stats as the OCZ Extreme... except its out almost 3 months later... and over $500 more expensive... and not nearly as customizable... and... well... ok ya gotta give em credit... right?!? do you?!?! hmmmm

After three months of research on laptop components and learning about them, I wanted to build my own, I found Xoticpc. Once I new the laptop I wanted I searched for it in it's various forms and names from many sites and Xoticpc stuck out at me. Their price was great as well. I, for one, am willing to pay the extra money if my experience and confidence is good with a company. This was not the case since all three have been met so far.

the asus only had a 2.53ghz and slightly lower video card, smaller/slower HDD and cost just as much(the np2096 configured nearly identicle to the asus m50vm-b1 is about $300+ cheaper)
my only complaint is that 8gb ram is not offered(yes i know it's expensive but I would have paid it) and quadcore and the 5300 wireless are not offered either...I haven't found a 15.4 with a quad core anywhere

I had heard of Sager and Xoticpc a few years back through surfing the web and reading pc magazines, I believe I had a subscription to every mag published for awhile, LOL;), Now down to just 2, Maximum pc and PC gamer, although I think I'm about to UN-subscribe to PC gamer, too many good reviews for average games, I think thier neutral stance in rating games has been compromised over the years !
Anyway, when my HP 9000 series took a crap on me a few months ago, defective gpu, 7600go, and HP would not repair it, I decided "NO MORE BRAND NAMES" for me. So after aprrox. 2 months of research and hearing a lot of good things at Notebook Review I decided on the Clevo/Sager brand and after reading the BBB report and reseller rating on Xoticpc I was ready !
Now all I need is my notebook !

Sorry for going off-topic, but my god do I hate PC Gamer. Anything Future publishes has been a steaming pile of dung the past few years, and PCG is no exception. I miss the days of CGW/GFW...

I can recommend an English magazine called PC Format. It has a good mix of HW, SW & 'scene' reviews and stories and cover topics like water cooling,OCing and often do large side by side reviews. They're not afraid to call a game shite no matter what the franchise. It's a little pricey to have ti shipped to the US but I've been a subscriber for years now.

I've been a longtime Dell fan, but this time after pouring over their offerings and Alienware, I just couldn't find one I liked. So, I began googling around and found the forums and notebookreview.com, where quite a few people were recommending Sager laptops, and XoticPC in particular.
I just put my order in Saturday, and will admit to a bit of nervousness. As many people seem to lover their Sagers, it's odd that many websites - including notebookreview.com - don't review them with the mainstream stuff.
Over at notebookreview, Sager is all over the forums, but not on the main pages at all. So, I'm putting a lot of faith in the masses here. :wideeyed:

I needed to get a laptop that was reasonably priced but that also had a high end video card, to use for work, and run high end Video Security software on. The only options that were close are the top of the line systems from Falcon Northwest and other companies, with laptops that are in the $3,000+ range, so I was keeping my eyes open for the next gen of Nvidia laptop cards to come out.
This place was the first to offer then new GTX 260 cards, and I found them that way.

I was originally going to order the W90-X1 from Newegg but I waited too long to get it and they swapped it out for the A1. I also later heard that I should wait a bit to buy a laptop from Leo Laporte since he said that the i7 would be coming out. Irritating since I've been saving up and waiting to get a laptop for 3 Years!!! After looking, I think I found xoticpc by notebookcheck.net. I started looking at what they had and I finally found the 9280!!! I ordered it the first week of May and I'm psyched to get it asap.

I went looking for whitebook laptops after searching in vain for a name brand one with the hardware I wanted in it.
That lead me to notebookreviews.com which lead me here.
Short, sweet, not the end of story until my 8662 is delivered though!
