Every time I restart my computer, or even wake it up from sleeping, Digital Vibrance in the nvidia control panel sets itself to 100%. I'd like to keep it at around 50%, and I set it as such every single time my computer starts, but it never sticks.

NP8600, 9800 GT, Laptopvideo2go 177.98

Something thats weird: I also set my contrast from 50% to 60%, and THAT setting stays put. Only digital vibrance refuses to stick.

Will it stay put if you turn if off? (I would probably just try turning it off in that situation and adjusting contrast/saturation/etc. to make up for it - which I suppose should help video card performance anyway. Does that work?)

I dont have the ability to turn it off. I'm using the new nvidia control panel, and so it's just a slider, it's right in between brightness and contrast. So I tried setting the slider to 0% and that still didn't work. Also, last night, I tried installing Dox's modded INF for Clevos along with 177.98, and that didn't do the trick either.

I found a fix for this at http://gianvito.wordpress.com/2008/09/13/resolved-17798-digital-vibrance-issue/

It uses Rivatuner to manually adjust the DV and set it at startup forcefully. That would be fine by me, as I use Rivatuner anyway to adjust some of the more advanced settings that aren't in the NV control panel.

However, I dont have a 'Desktop Overlay and Color Schemes' icon as shown in the third picture. And when I go into the monitor settings, it obviously isn'f one of the options to adjust the DV.

And finally, after like 10 minutes more of digging, I found out that this is a full blown driver bug, and it is not fixable lol. Thanks anyway Brad.

Sad times. :-( At least you've got something to take care of it for now...
