Greetings,

Does anyone use Snagit on a 9262 under Vista with no issues? No matter what, it won't detect the windows when I try to capture a window. Full screen and region capture works fine. It has been like this under every driver I have used, both official from Sager and non-official from laptopvideo2go. It works fine under XP. It also works fine under Vista when I drag the window to my Dell external monitor, which tells me it's the display itself. The best answer I can find is that it's due to flawed EDID info in the LCD. The preferred refresh rate is stored at 59hz and that is why many are/were having problems with the 59hz refresh rate lock. Thanks for any info you can provide.

After months of pulling my hair out, I found the solution! Hopefully this will help anyone else having the same problem. I always noticed there was a horizontal area just above the taskbar, extending across the entire screen, that was never selected. It wasn't until today, when I tried Adobe Captivate, that I found the solution. Captivate lets you choose open windows from a list, rather than hovering over them like Snagit. I noticed one called OSD. I chose it and it selected that horizontal area above the taskbar. I disabled OSD in the Multimedia Keyboard application and everything is working as it should. Apparently the OSD overlay interferes with these programs and is pretty bland in Vista anyway. It didn't have the volume bar like it does in XP, and instead just showed "Volume +" or "Volume -" so it won't be missed.

Edit: Disabling OSD in the application apparently isn't enough. Use msconfig to disable the OSD startup item or rename OSDShow.exe to something else in C:\Windows.

Note: I couldn't edit the post for some reason so I had to add a reply.
