Couple Questions for everyone

I did not want SLI as I like things to just work without worry but was the GTX a worthwild upgrade over the GT?
Was going for the quad for future proofing a good idea?
After read a few posts I decided 2 5400RPM drives in raid was better then 1 7200?

Anyone have any idea how long building ussually takes?

I second Zataras opinion!

as for your question, the gtx card has been benchmarked to run between 20-40% higher than the gt... in my opinion, its a good upgrade!

People debate "future proofing" as to when the quads will become standard for game designers. right now I believe the only game that truely takes advantage of the quad cores is "supreme commander" but the quad speed of the quad you have is pretty close to the top of the dual cores, so you should have a pretty decent experience with what you picked, plus you will definatly exel in some areas.

the raid 0 will blow any single drive away. the equivalent rpms your a raid 0 will be close to 10000 rpms... now if you had raid 0 for 7200 drives :)

with your system settup.... you will laugh when you see how absurdly fast you can install high end games. and playing them will just blow your mind... seriously, you will need to have someone clean your brain of the screen!

Enjoy, you lucky B@$T@RD

Thanks for the replies.

Anyone know build times to give me an idea when I might get the laptop.

Well I ordered mine Aug 27th, and got it Sep 11. Thats without paint, skins, or anything so expect 2 weeks or so before you have it in your hands.

X-Fi Xtreme Notebook Audio Card

How is the gaming performance from the card?
I was thinking of ordering one before my laptop comes in but 80 dollars is alot if the difference is not alot. I do have a high end set of head phones.

Truthfully, it's eh... like its great for EAX and whatnot, but with music and movies, it doesn't really make that much of a difference for these laptops. It's like adding an equilizer onto every sound coming out of the laptop. You can probably do it with software.

Obviously if you do audio editing, like I do, THEN it's useful, the processing power is great. But for home use, for games its cool, but music and movies show minimal improvement over the internal cards... at least thats my opinion.

Well the new X-Fi audio card for notebooks has a major limitation in that it doesn't support surround sound at all. Not even with an external dongle. On the other hand, very few people ever use surround speakers with a notebook and the Creative card does a better job than anything else at simulating surround sound through a 2 channel system such as a good pair of headphones. The CMSS 3D is fantastic in both games and video for creating a convincing illusion of surround sound that you won't get from the on board audio, at least with the included software.

But pretty much anyone who gets a 9262 with a high end graphics card is a gamer otherwise what's the point of this notebook? For games the Creative card is pretty much mandatory. I've played with and without and some games simply won't run well on the on board audio. Battlefield 2 is a good example. It's an older game but it simply won't work properly with the on board audio unless you use medium or lower quality which is noticeably poor. Call of Duty 4 is another game that really benefits from the Creative card.

Hi endy23 - here's a few answers for you:

1. Short answer: yes. I'm obviously not sure how secure your Internet access might be in Jakarta, but it is entirely safe on our end. We use industry standard encryption with secure servers.

2. Banks wires are actually among the safest forms of payment in the world as long as you walk into your bank and get a representative to assist you with the wire transfer. A wire transfer would also be your quickest option from Indonesia and would probably clear in less than a week.

3. Production time is generally 3-7 business days, and we'll send you an update when your order ships out. The exact time you get your PC would depend upon what you order as well as the shipping method you choose (i.e. if you select a pre-order model, then it will almost certainly take more than two weeks.) With that said, we generally use UPS international shipping, which will allow you to track your package as soon as it leaves our facility.

If you have any more questions about this, please feel free to e-mail and ask us!
