Anyone experiencing problems with 9800gtx in the 9262? Everytime I run crysis when i get to the plane scene the screen turns black and in the bottom right corner a message appears saying drivers lost drivers found. When I launch oblivion when i get to charater creation it feels like its running at 2 fps and then in like 40 seconds my screen turns blue and it says dumping physical memory( I have 4 gb ram). Oh yah I only have the internet up and it says im using 1.57gb of ram is that normal? I really really hope somebody can help I want to play crysis real bad and I have seen people play crysis with an 8600 gt so why cant I ?
3Dmark06 score was 10612 or something in that area.
Far Cry Ultra high plays good.

the memory thing is pretty typical in vista, it is a resource hog and will eat alot of memory with useless programs if you don't tweak it. as for the GPU, I wish I could help, but I neither have the 9800gtx nor the NP9262... sorry

Are you using the drivers that came installed on the notebook from the drivers CD or did you go to laptopvideo2go to get your video card drivers?

Try Dox's modded INF for Clevos. A new version was released for the new drivers, that may help. Also, try some different driver versions. Since nvidia drivers are all built on the same architecture, you can be assured that there will be flaws in the betas and newer releases. for instance, I'm using 177.98, and I have the digital vibrance bug thats just been annoying me forever. I plan on upgrading when I get home from work.

Its a service from nvidia. You may want to try disabling it temporarily on startup. Go to the start menu and run msconfig, then go to the startup section and disable it. Then restart and see if you still have the problem. If so, you can reenable it if you want, but idk what it does.

Do a search for "nvlddmkm" via Google and every search comes up with issues regarding the file not responding. In any case the following link seems to have a fix, but the file is for an older verion I beleive, but you may want to read up on it to see if the symptoms are like yours.

Good luck!!

I'm using 177.83 with Dox's inf for Clevo. I have a 9800M GT on a 9262 and it has been flawless. I also have PhysX running flawlessly on this card. On the other hand I'm running XP Pro SP3 rather than Vista. I installed Vista on my last Sager and decided to go back to XP on my new one. Crysis runs flawlessly and I get 10200 in 3DMark06.
The memory footprint with Vista is normal. Vista isn't so much a resource hog as it seems though. It will use as much memory as it can get. If you took your current notebook and ripped out half the memory and rebooted you would find Vista would use considerably less memory all by itself. It auto adjusts it's behavior based on available RAM so more memory is better. I only have 2GB on my 9262 because I run XP and don't need more than that.

Is this only happening in crysis or are other games whacking out on you as well? I seem to remember you speaking of the crysis demo before, are you running the demo or a retail version of crysis? you might want to try reinstalling if its not the retail version of the game, maybe even re-download it. something might be corupt on that side of things. just a thought :mask:

I have the retail version, and when I am playing it the battery went from 37% to 5% in like 4 minutes is that normal? I wish I could get it to work with the power brick plugged in.

Well depends on your configuration, but the power of that laptop really does cut battery life down to size. You're not going to get a lot out of it, all things considered, it might as well be called a portable desktop lol.

If you can post screenshots of you playing Crysis at above half a frame per second with no artifacts or errors whatsoever under Wine, I will consider this quote a completely unbiased and true statement :)

Everything is better fried.
But yeah, Crysis is pretty dumb like that. I only hope at some point they'll release an optimization patch or something to make it smoother.
