I've been researching good gaming computers that don't break the bank and I came across this site. I've seen nothing but fantastic deals on this site, but i have a problem: My father is very very skeptical about trusting random websites with thousands of dollars. He insists that I should buy from the huge companies such as Dell or from big box stores such as Costco (which have mediocre selections and are more expensive than their parts are worth). In the past day or so I found Sager, a relatively unknown computer manufacturer that has magnificent specs and a pretty good price. My dad is already wary about not buying from one of the huge companies, so I need some assistance in determining whether or not I can trust this site or not. If anyone wants to know, I've been looking at the Sager NP8130 and it looks great. Are there any credentials i can use, like a manufacturer's guarantee, that can help me with my dilemma? I've shown him the ratings of this site but it still didn't convince him. :(

Do you know what's inside Dell/HP/etc... computers? Clevo(Sager uses this too) Asus, and MSI parts. The only thing Dell makes is their logo on the cases of the computers...What if you had a problem with Dell? Going to call Dell support? I say GOOD LUCK to you if you want to put your computer in Dell's hands.

My two brothers and one of my friends bought computers from Xotic, and I plan to buy mine when Ivy bridge comes out. Xotic has been awesome to deal with for warranties or with my barrage of questions. I will never waste $500+ on a sub-par computer that says DELL/HP again! That's $500+ more than a computer on Xotic, but can hardly compete with a Sager, MSI or Asus.

Sager has their own website if that helps any. Just remember that "big brand" companies use the same parts or sub-par parts, and they charge you a lot more for it.

My dad said that he would buy directly from the sager manufacturer for more even though this has the obviously better deal. Do you know if Sager certifies this company to sell its products?

First sager is just the united states brand name for Clevo laptops. Xotic and MANY other resellers sell the clevo/sager laptops some sell them with the sager or clevo brand name some others will sell them under thier iwn brand name but they are still a clevo regardless of the names. MSI and Asus manufacture thier own laptops the other 70% of all laptops are made by ODM's.

it is almost always better to get the clevo/sager laptops from Xotic, or one of the many other resellers than directly from sager.. why? because sagers customer support basicly bites. but with xotic pc and some of the other premier resellers they go to bad for you and you deal with them not sager. also most reputable buisnesses paricipate in resellerratings.com if you check notice that sager does not participate wich customer issues there. yet if you look at Xotic they have an elite rating as well as them being participating members.

also you can go to notebookreviews.com and see that theier Xotic pc has a presence there too. im not here to say clevo/sagers are bad computer because they are not bad at all.. just that you will get much better customer support buying a sager/clevo from someone other than sager.

Good luck on your shopping!

I wholeheartedly say "buy from Xotic". They take good care of their customers - which I am one of.

Check out their resellerratings: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Xotic_PC

Do you or your daddy own a credit card? Of course you do. Did you know credit card companies won't make you pay for a fraudulent charge? Hypothetically, let's say you ordered a laptop on www.ripoffcomputers.com (http://www.ripoffcomputers.com) and never received it, or you opened a box to find a computer made of chocolate, All you have to do is call your credit card company and let them know you got scammed. They got your back!

Seriously though, this site is no rip off. Order with confidence!

See! even newbies are telling you how it is! I have been looking at all sorts of sites but i predominantly stay on this one due to the tech support and great pricing. The users have an extensive knowledge here as well.

If it helps you feel more comfortable I also just bought a laptop ~$1650. I read a lot of reviews etc... and xotic was by far the best site. The past few days have only reinforced my opinion of them and I would also come back for future purchases.

And since you mentioned, Dell is awful. I get a decent discount through my work and I still wouldn't shop Dell, they have no customer service to speak of and products are way over priced.
