I narrowed down my choice for a laptop to these two:

FORCE 2090 -
Built on Sager NP2090

FORCE 3297 -
Built on Compal IFL90

recommendations?

They are both the same machine Mike. They only differ by warranty and available options :) Otherwise they are identical machines .
