This would be my first choice. the 9800GTX will handle any game you through at it on very high settings and would handle any game that came out in the next 3 yrs at least. but thats my priority, not yours :)

If you want a Blu-Ray burner its an extra $318.

This machine is only slightly bulkier but has a couple features the 5796 doesnt. the 3 year warranty is better along with the 2 drives in RAID is a big plus. I've seen benchmarks for the GPU crossfire which score lower than the single 9800 gtx so that would be a SLIGHT trade off.***EDIT*** I've double checked this statement and the HD 3870 scores HIGHER which bumps this to the top of my list :D my mistake :-/ ***

If you want a Blu-Ray drive its an extra $165.

This would be your top 15" screen lappy. It gives you a little extra cash to play with if you want custom skin or better warranty or a mouse/cooler/carrybag/night-on-the-town whatever! the 9800 gts is slightly less powerful than the above options, but the trade-off is a smaller notebook which is a little more portable.

For the price range you mentioned, I would think one of these machines would suit your needs just fine.]
