Here's what I would like:
DDR3 memory that's fully usable upto 8gb.
Usb turbo memory.
e-sata.
hdmi.
You know, more people are doing HD video editing, it would be nice to not be limited to only 6.8gb because of some chipset bug.
What's the likelyhood? :)

the next 926x revision is all speculation at this point :-/
as for the e-sata/hdmi stuff you could always run out and pick up an express card which will give access to these features and I'm pretty sure you can set up USB turbo memory on a thumb drive with vista regardless of system specs.
as for DDR3, I've been told it is not that big of a speed difference for the price difference.
Just my two cents, take it or leave it :)
welcome to the forums and congrats on the new system :D

Yeah my last laptop had DDR2 667 memory, and the boost to DDR3 did pretty much nothing. It's better to have more than less at a faster speed. That being said, the chipset bug will probably be gone with the new chipset lol, which may or may not be built on the new i7 technology by the time it comes out... but I have no idea.

This question comes up a lot whether a customer can upgrade their current DDR2 system to DDR3 memory. To use DDR3 memory, your system must have both a 204-pin SODIMM slot and a chipset that supports DDR3 memory. A DDR3 SODIMM will not fit into DDR2 or DDR memory sockets. DDR3 will be a requirement in the next generation of Intel chips (Nehalem) due to the redesigned memory interface. In Core 2 chips DDR3 isn't necessary and doesn't offer a significant speed increase.
As far as speculation goes....It's highly unlikely there will be a new motherboard in these computers before Intel Nehalem because I'm pretty sure that Core 2 has gone as far as it's going to go. Nehalem is the next logical move but it may be a while before a motherboard is designed that will work in a notebook with desktop processors like the 965 chipset in the 9262. The next revision of this computer could end up using a standard notebook chipset. I'm sure someone somewhere has an idea or a plan but I haven't read or seen anything.
In any case I would bet that it will use DDR3 and have standard features such as eSATA and HDMI.
In the meantime it may still be feasable over the next year to insert upgrades into existing 9262 machines depending on the new graphics cards and if the high end quad core extremes come down in price.
