Will XoticPC customize the laptops more than the options already given?

For example, if I want a Force 3590 ASUS V1JP with a geforce 7700 card instead of the ATI 1700 (and don't want to get the VX2).

Or, after May, if i want a Centrino Pro, but want a different wireless card than the 4965?

Thanks.

I am disappointed. That was a general question and its answer is of interest to many of your customers. Of course, the options would not be infinite but do you or do you not go beyond what is on your website within whatever limits you might specify on a per case basis? Should one not even bother to ask?

Hrm, in all fairness, I had actually e-mailed Justin with that question as well as asking it here. As a result, he had already replied to me in an e-mail by the time he posted that response here.

In sum, he basically said that any further customization may be possible, but it would need to be looked at on a case-by-case basis.

Referring to my own example, if I wanted a specific wireless card, they would have to make sure that it's actually physically possible to insert with whatever platform the laptop has...since I was asking about a model that wasn't yet released at the time (in fact it's still not released yet...Asus is slooooow), there's no way of knowing until they get their hands on the system. If it was actually possible, then the answer was a yes.

As for my second question..that was just a product of my own ignorance at the time :p I didn't feel the need to ask him again after doing a bit more research about laptops and GPUs.

It was pretty obvious he had answered you individually. Mine was not a gripe. Just pointing out that this was a question many people want to know the answer to, not just you. Maybe he is so used to being flexible with customers that it didn't occur to him that new customers don't know that.

I am not stating you shouldnt ask, I apologize if I came off that way. For the most part what you see on the website is the most you can do on a laptop. If you have additional questions on what could be done please email because there are times when we might not have not placed a available upgrade on the site. (Not our intention)

Please do email me or any of our other staff with your questions or upgrade options. We are here to help :)
