I dont know if someone has had this problem but every time i use my M5796, if i unplug the power and after the plugin i get a blue screen. I have used every recommendation on "Windows Problem Reports and Solution" without succeed. The only thing i could not do was the Bios update because althought there is an new version, you have to pay on Phoenix web site to upgrade the Bios. I have Window Vista 64 on a NP5796 with the following configuration:

You should try warranty service before updating the BIOS. I think flashing the BIOS may void your warranty unless they clear you for it and you receive the BIOS directly from Sager. You'd have to ask them. Don't download and flash a BIOS from anyone other than Sager.

Have you tried to see if this problem only occurs when booting to your installation of Windows? You can create a clean install of Windows without deleting your current install just to test. Or better yet boot to a CD of some sort and see if the problem follows. This type of troubleshooting will isolate any possible software problems.

Also, Sager recommends in the owners manual to unplug the AC power from the power brick prior to unplugging it from the laptop. When plugging in, plug the power brick into the laptop then plug the AC power in.

I agree with Woody 100%. That said you followed all the advice? Did that include a complete reinstall of OS and drivers? If not do so. My take is a hardware to OS issue. Whether it be "drivers" or whatever I don't know. I do not think power cord has drivers. So I think OS reinstall is your best bet.

Good luck and happy holidays!
