I'm assuming your talking about the drivers and OS and not third-party software.
You should have the Drivers disc and the OS disc that came with your laptop and the CD-key should be on the sleeves that those discs came in (unless you threw them out -I hope not).
I'm not sure if there is a CD-key for the drivers disc, but if there is it would be on the sleeve it came in or printed on the lable of the disc itself. If there is not a CD key for the driver disc, try loading that first.

No I am not talking about the drivers. And yes this is probably third party software since i am talking specifically about PowerDVD which i did not mention. How come I can't use it if it came with the laptop? I'm just wondering why I have a DVD player if I can't even use it? Is there any free DVD software out there that is not pirated?

Thanks

Which Sagernotebook do you have? You should have been provided a DVD Software Disc that has your key coode on the back of the sleeve.

Most DVD movies out today also have some form of a DVD Decoder Software on the movie itself you can install. (explore the CD)

I have the NP9262. There are no cd keys on the cd sleeve.

If you're talking about CyberLink PowerDVD 7 that comes with the Sager 9262 it requires a CD-key which is printed on a sticker on the white CD sleeve. If you've lost that sleeve you're out of luck I think. Without that licence you can't play DVDs on your computer. I actually have a small stack of these codes from all the computers I've purchased

There is other software that provides DVD licence software so you may have to go out and buy it.

No I have the cd sleeve. It is a clear plastic holder that holds all the cds that came with the notebook. There were never any stickers on it. Does somebody owe me a cd key?

VLC by videolan.org will play your CD's nicely. If you use the live setting under audio it really pumps up the volumn of your laptop speakers.

A copy of PowerDVD came with my desktop sound card, and it, too, had no CD key on the sleeve. I e-mailed the company's support and they sent me a key. If you have a legit OEM copy of the software, you should be able to do the same.

By default, there should be a sticker with the cd key on the cd case.
Contact support and we'll fix it.

I think the last posts about calling support are good suggestions. But for future and in general Belarc Advisor does a good job of laying out the software you have and the keys. It makes it easy to copy and store for just your type of situation. :)
