Dvd drive dead :( [Archive]

Hey guys... My dvd drive seems to be dead. I can eject it using a paper clip but it wont work. The drive wont spin the disc and wont open when i press the eject button on the drive itself. Any help would be appreciated :)

I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with the DVD drive. I would recommend contacting technical support at 1-(800) 741-2219 (9AM - 5PM PST) to further troubleshoot this issue or to setup an RMA for repairs :)

Thanks Justin lol. Its not that bad. And I hear it is common in laptops that dvd drives fail. My laptop still works perfectly though and I love it :) Im still thinking of switching to an external lightscribe 20 x burner:confused: hmnn.....:D Oh and when do you think I should buy a laptop to replace my current one? In the next 4 years?

We haven't seen a lot of DVD drive failures, but it could be possible that your drive has mal-functioned. You would want to purchase a new notebook once the current notebook you have no longer runs the programs or software that your needing to use it for
