Running AVG on a new Cleo/Sager 5760

Is anyone else having problems running AVG antivirus with this box? I have read some isolated incidents where people are getting the BSOD. Although I understand a decent alternative is Avast, I really would prefer to load AVG on my new notebook.

I guess I am hoping it is something that was a fluke or that the newer machines have whatever incompatibility ironed out.

We are under the understanding that these issues are rare with AVG. We normally use Avast around here and it works really well.
