ASUS A8JM overheat problem

My friend brought this laptop few months ago. Every time it is overheat and reboots when he is playing games(Battle field, obilivon....). But the laptop runs fine on other stuff. Do you know how to solve this problem? He brought a cooling pad, but it didn't work.

You can make sure the vents are not clogged with dust or any debris?

As long as you have it on a hard surface it should run cool enough for those applications.
