Hey all. As you can tell by the name of this thread, my bluetooth is acting up on me. It connected fine last week. I went to connect the new mouse and it wouldn't connect. After going to the Bluetooth options menu through Control Panel, I found out that the Discovery feature had turned itself off. Not sure how since I hadn't changed the settings since I connected my bluetooth phone last week. Anyways, when I go to enable it and hit Apply or OK, it says:

An error occured while Windows was saving your settings. The Bluetooth device must be unplugged.

The following settings were not saved:

Discoverability settings
Connection settings

And whenever I try to add the mouse using the Add in the Bluetooth Settings, it can't find. Same thing for the phone now, too.

Anyone have any idea what to do? The mouse is turned on and I tried hitting the connect button and still nothing. Can't find anything about it on Google relating to Vista AND a laptop, so I'm at a loss.

Edit: I just tried reinstalling all the bluetooth drivers and such, and now it says no bluetooth hardware found. Guess I have to buy some small screwdrivers and open this up and find out if the card got loose somehow. Great... =/

Edit (again): Man, do I feel stupid... I was about to rip the lappy apart last night so I as looking at the manual to see where the bluetooth module was located... Lo and behold, I see "FN+F12 to toggle Bluetooth on/off." I turned the lappy on, pushed that key combo, and BAM! Works again... I'm a big ol' dummy...

Okay, so I'm still having problems. I can get the mouse to connect, but it won't do anything. It's like it's a "ghost connect" or something. However you wish to describe it... I installed the bluetooth software that came on my drivers disc and now Windows bluetooth won't start up. I don't know why. I uninstalled the bluetooth software, rebooted, and still nothing. My phone connects fine with the software and can do everything it's supposed to... Not the mouse though. Oh, it's the Logitech mouse you have the option of buying when you order the laptop. The 470 or something I think it is. Can anyone help me out here. =/

My MT mouse has two batteries in it so that you can replace one at a time without losing the BT connection, maybe the batteries are going bad. If your phone works fine it most likely isn't the BT connection. Just a thought.

Semper Fi.
