I just recently purchased a 5793 with the general Realtek 3d audio sound system. The problem is when I have my headphones and crank the volume up to 100% it still isnt that loud. I checked the options and I dont see where I am missing some other setting. I guess my question is, have I missed a setting somewhere to boost the output or are the headphone outputs just that weak on this system?
Thanks,
B

I believe the volume for headphones is fixed (won't go beyond a certain level). If they seem too silent to you, you can check your windows audio settings (access the mixer and look at the level for "wav" and "master" of course).
It's common these days. A lot of audio gear, portable or not, have limiters on the headphone function. Even my high-end audiophile receiver has it. It's a measure to protect against hearing loss I suppose.

I recommend using either USB headsets which will have their own audio system or get a Creative X-Fi ExpressCard and plug your headphones into that. It's not volume limited.

OCG listed a good guide on how to maximize the sound output on the Sager np579x notebooks. I will need to search the forums and see if i can find it for you :)
