Hi, I've seen plenty of retailers offering the M570RU with 4GB of DDR2 800MHz ram. Does the SAGER NP5792 also support 800MHz?

Thank you!

It would run 800MHz Ram BUT the system only supports 667MHz. If you install 800MHz ram it will down clock it to 667MHz.

The moral of the story, 800MHz is not worth putting in this machine. :D

That's very honest of xoticpc and you. Some vendors would have just made a few more $$ or said whatever the customer wanted to hear. Kudos to you.

When you have 4GB of RAM on a laptop..... do you think it would really matter if you increased them from 667MHz to 800MHz. What are you planning on using your laptop for?

It would matter. It is the reason why RAM speeds get over 1 GHZ nowadays. But the Sager 5792`s RAM speed is limited by the Intel 965 laptop chip, although the front side bus is 800 MHZ (santa rosa) .
Therefore regardless of the RAM put inside, it will never run at more than 667 MHZ.

Well, I know it would matter... If you were unaware of the tone of my post, I was being sarcastic  .
