Kinda new to Laptops,... very new :).

Wondering, is it safe to power a laptop using the power adapter only, with no battery pack installed?

Just got the N50VN-B1B from Xotic and loving it! Should have an N50VN owners lounge :)

Yes it is fine. Can't you just make a thread for owners lounge? If you want to share space with the F8VA-C1 I think they have room and would share. I mean I heard pp ask once is he the only person in the world who bought?

Well Asus released the Asus G51. and someone already took it apart. but a few interesting things. it looks mostly the same as the g50.

maybe even take the GTX260m and put it in a g50. since everything looks exactly the same.

Hello,

Justin would you happen to remember what brand of ram the Asus g50 came stock with. Id like to add another 4gig stick. I know its DDR2 800mhz but id like to match the brand if possible, Maybe buy the ram from Xotic if possible. And Id like to set up raid0 also, I have the X5 so i dont think it came with the extra hard drive cage ill have to take a peak inside to see which drive its using stock.

Snip,

The ram was either hynix(iqc) or nanya. Although you could probably open it up and take a look. I would just make sure to get 1.8v ram with timings around 5-5-5-12 or 6-6-6-18. The best thing to do would be to buy a paired kit. Might be just as cheap if you shop around. How much ram did you want to go up to?
