Hi guyz, Im from India and Iam in need of a laptop for casual gaming and a little bit of CAD modelling like CATIA and AutoCAD..... I am not that worried abt mobility and stuff and my only requirement is that the gpu should be able to cope up pretty well for the given resolution. A screen size of 14" would be OK. Now the issue that I need the lappy shipped to India, so I need a brand that can offer ground support in India. ASUS is OK(though evry one has only heard of their EeePC) I think, and MSI eventhough present in India is not that popular, while no one has ever heard of Sager and Clevo before. Also what is the shipping options that I should take? THe lappy should be within a budget of 65000 INR which would equate to approx. USD 1300 including shipping and other expenses. So what do you guys think???

Welcome to the forums Deejay! I understand how overwhelming it can be to find the right notebook. I could only imagine how hard the decision could be for buying from an oversees seller. To put your mind at ease, all of the laptops sold by XoticPC are quality machines and if you do a bit of research you will find good things about the company and the products they sell... even if they dont have the brand names... do a bit of research into Original Design Manufacurer and you will discover that most companies (dell, hp, alienware etc.) buy there parts from the same manufacturer, which is true for Sager and any force machine you see on the site (I beleive Asus IS an ODM but someone may be able to correct me if I am wrong.. Ive read they are actually the ODM for Apple Inc :) ) All that to say these are all quality machines!
That said: I would like to point you towards the http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-n50vna1b-p-2524.html (ASUS N50VN-A1) and the http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-n50vnb1b-p-2525.html (ASUS N50VN-B1B)
These machines are very similar, both are 15.4" screens with the nVidia GeForce 9650M GT 1024MB GPU (which will probably be the best card you can get for the money)
and as an added bonus, I'll throw in the http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np5793-custom-sager-notebook-built-clevo-m570ruu-m571ruu-p-2276.html (Sager NP5793) which will cost slightly more and it is a 17" screen, but it has the nVIDIA GeForce Go 9800 GTS which is a much better GPU
as for warrenties, ASUS has a really great GLOBAL warranty, while Sager has a great warranty as well, but shipping may be a concern in India (IF you need to use the warranty)
You should contact Xoticpc sales at 1-877-289-9684 to find out about shipping and duty/tax. They are really friendly and are not pushy at all. They will let you buy on your own terms. so feel free to give them a call or email them directly. This may help you get a better idea of how much of your hard earned money would actually go into the machine and how much will go for shipping/duty.
Anyway, if you have any questions feel free to post them, we all love answering questions :) I'm sure Anewbus will post some pretty detailed configurations for you to ponder :p
Happy Lappy Hunting!

Yeah, first of all I would like to thank Robamb for putting me on the spot:p I'm just teasing.
Seriously, I started to do some looking and figuring and then realized that in order to meet your budget Deejay I was having to look at the 10 inch screen models. This is because I am clueless about overseas shipping and duties costs and all that so I was concerned that the machines I started to look at in the 14" to 15" range would end up well over your budget after configuration since you wanted to include shipping and duties and all in your figure.
I'd like to paint a bit more accurate picture for you to ponder. So if you could post at least an estimate of the additional cost for shipping and duties and such I'll come up with at least one config for you to ponder, if not more.

Good points Anew. While I have seen some from as far as the Middle East order from Xotic. Warranty issues seem to be the main stumbling block on international sales. Asus as pointed out has a Global warranty? Check if Sager does also.
