I'm looking at the Sager NP5797 and NP9262, but need help in deciding which one would be better for the price. I has configured them as below and both are about $3000. Any advice on which would run better for the price would be appreciated.

NP5797:
-Intel® T9800 45nm "Montevina" Core™2 Duo 2.93GHz w/6MB L2 On-die cache - 1066MHz FS 35 wat
-nVidia GeForce 9800M GTX 1,024MB PCI-Express DDR3 DX10 (User Upgradeable)
-4,096MB DDR3 1066MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS)
-4GB Intel® Robson Turbo Memory II
-320GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA II 300 - 16MB Cache

NP9262:
-Intel Core 2 QUAD Q9550 2.83GHz w/ 12MB L2 Cache - 1333MHz FSB
-nVidia GeForce 9800M GTX 1,024MB PCI-Express DDR3 DX10 (User Upgradeable)
-4,096MB DDR2 800 (2 SODIMMS) Dual Channel Memory
-Two 320GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA II 300 - 16MB Cache)

I can see your dilemma. I think you already see much of what I do also but here it is. Clearly the NP9262 does offer more. It has a more powerful CPU and two HDD's. Take note that the Core 2 could perform better on non multi-threaded or non Quad-threaded apps because of higher clocks.

That said the real differences is portability. Not that either are very good at it. But NP5797 does win by a couple pounds.

My thoughts and really only opinion here. You have the NP5797 built max. You have the NP9262 built below what it can do. Unless I knew I would want SLI or needed two HDD's I would go NP5797. I should also mention if CPU intensive tasks yes NP9262. The NP5797 should game as well and maybe better? And is lighter.

Good luck I do not see an obvious decision either.

I would go NP5797 between those two as configured.
