Overheating laptops

I'm gonna buy a new Laptop in the next month or so. I'm thinking of the Compal IFL90 elite. I know this is a pretty new laptop platform, but in general, how do Xotic Laptops handle heat?

My current laptop doesn't handle well at all, I have it on a full size cooler and it still overheats, doing everyday tasks, not just games, and comes up with a warning message when I start it up, the next time.

I even cracked it open and put artic silver on the CPU and GPU, and opened up the exhaust vents more, that helped a little but not enough.

Most newer notebooks run fairly cool, and I haven't heard/read anything about the 8600go line running too hot.

What notebook do you use now and what graphics card do you have??

Make sure the fans on your cooler and working in the same direction your internal notefans are. (that is if you have fans on the bottom of the notebook)

The IFL90 has a good cooling system to handle the most demanding hardware. Most notebooks these days have good enough cooling to keep it running cool even under the most demanding tasks :)

RESPONSE: In many cases, a fancy expensive notebook cooler is a waste of money. You're better off with an Allsop Metal Art Notebook Stand [http://www.allsop.com/home-office-tools/notebook-accessories/model-28222/metal-art-notebook-stand/]

Why? Most notebooks have rubber pads beneath them that slight raise the computer. A shame they don't do what Sony did (still?) is place foldable rear mini-legs in the rear that raises the computer's butt by about an inch off the surface. In any case, the rubber pads prevent direct chassis contact with the cooler pad so it's heatsink properties of the coolers are lost right there. The USB run fans, I simply do not believe they have the muscle to remove any significant heat. I have a Titan G3 (I think it's called), beautiful cooler and all that. Waste of money. now the Allsop stand has holes with holes to let heat escape and it lifts the computer from the surface as well. Thus you get airflow under your computer and the internal fans can push out heated air unimpeded.
