I was reading about that this morning. Problem is, you need to be within one of five 1000-miles-radius areas and have access to a 2 Mbps connection (5 Mbps for HD quality). Eventually, I'm sure most if not all content will be accessible practically in this fashion. Just not yet.

i have my doubts about this... I expect this isnt going to be a smash hit.
Good idea but quite impractical... I have a max download speed of 128kbps and the people I know with a GOOD internet arent high enough to make this work properly...
(Assuming its what I think of it, like a streaming video)

I think the biggest problem will be price. I think people are really skeptical since they haven't shown a price figure yet on whether it would be a monthly payment or yearly subscription.

My other complaint is the fact that there is no exclusive content or new and interesting games that would make people seem tempted away from their PCs, Xbox, PS3, or Wii.

Sounds like a great idea but it just

Not going to offer better so will not take off. I understand the concept but like many just really does not offer much. PC gamers are just too demanding with good reason.

5Mbps? 5x1024=5120Kbps/8=640KBps/1024=.625MB/s? And they are likely using the base 10 so sadly just not going to be worth it sorry. Sounds about as good as external graphics? Wow that really took off!

Cloud gaming is going to really have an impact on the way we play video games. I've heard rumors that Xbox and Sony have thought about getting rid of their optical drives and making their future systems download only. This is partly due to the large amount of pirating that has been going on with disk games. I think that if you play a single player game that can be buffered, the connection speed won't be a huge factor. If there is a lot of lagging when playing multi-player games, then this cloud gaming system won't have much success commercially.
