I am seriously considering buying a laptop from your site/store, but I am reluctant to do so since I am overseas at the moment and have no place to send it in the States. Is there any way to work this problem out? The APO address is actually a US postal address that ends up in New York before it gets sent over to me in the Middle East.
Please, if you could reply quickly, I would appriciate it! Thanks!

Hi John! We ship to APO addresses on nearly a daily basis. We have a shipping option available for military personnel. We will even give you a little price break for being in the military :)
Let me know if i can help with anything! :D

Thanks, Justin. I know that everyone in the military serving overseas likes a little break here and there. Especially when it can help us save our hard-earned money! I'll try to contact you in the future, but as you can see, it's hard for me to find a place and time to be able to look at the web for more than a minute or two, if we are capable of checking our e-mail at all.
I will try to contact you shortly about the purchase of one of your computer systems. I know that i am really looking into that Sager 5790 laptop that you have on your main site. Do you happen to have any ideas or input on how the hardware of the system reacts to an alternate operating system such as Linux? I personally run a distro called Sabayon and am wondering how much trouble i am going to have with the hardware when using this operating system (such as sound driver, wifi, network and such problems). Any information on this subject would definitely help me out on what system that I will be picking out for my purchase!
Thanks again for all that you do and your continued support for your troops!

Hi nicodarious, Unfortunately at this time we dont have any information on what will or will not work with Linux. The 5790 is a good choice. Let me know if any other questions come up along the way or if there is anything i can do for you.
Best,

Thanks for your quick replies. I have made a decision on what i want to purchase. It's the Sager 9760 model. I have found it to exceed my expectations as far as hardware goes. I have the specs that i have set up, all i need to do now is to make sure that you send it to my APO address instead of my home address. I will be purchasing this via paypal and I know Paypal has my APO address as the primary.
Is there any certain odd steps i must take in order to make sure that it arives here instead of my home address steps, or can you just take the address off of Paypal instead, and ignore the address listed as mine on my account with Xotic?
Thanks for your help!

We can ship to a APO address but this address must be on your credit card or as a confirmed address on your Pay Pal account. Please confirm it is your CONFIRMED address on Pay Pal.
Please make sure the address is on your order and confirmed with your Pay Pal account. Let us know if you need any help.

One question about the 5760 though... does it have two dedicated HDD bays or is the modular optical device slide out in order to make room for the secondary HDD?

Your right, you have to slide out the optical drive to get the 2nd HDD in the system.

hmm.. i don't think that Linux would like that hotswapping too well. Do you happen to have any laptops for sale that has two internal dedicated HDD bays by any chance?
*edit*
oh, and are the Sager 5790's shipping yet? I have a friend that loved the picture of it on your site and he's wondering when it ships so he can order one too. Thanks!

The 5790 will ship in the next 1-2 weeks :D The system that can take two Internal Drives are the 9759 and 9260 (without hot swapping)
If you dont mind the hot swap we have other laptops that will hot swap.

well, as you will shortly see this morning, after baking my head and considering every aspect and point of my use for a laptop, i have finally come to a decision. Keep in mind that i am also looking for something with portability, not just big screen size (although initially, size WAS a big plus). I have decided to purchase the Asus C90S, knowing that ASUS has a taste for quality in their products and after reading numerous websites on reviews about this powerhouse.
Please, e-mail me straight, if there are any problems with my order, Justin, and i'll do what i can to make sure that all the information is straightened out. I'm sorry that i have no phone number that you can reach me at, since i am deployed, but i hope that e-mail will suffice in this situation.
Also, if you happen to see my account, I have spoken with my bank, and have made my HOME address the address with the APO AE address, instead of the one with the Tennessee address. Both addresses should be on the account, though, just the APO AE is the 'home' address now. If this causes any problems, please let me know asap.
Thanks for your support to the people who support this country! We all love you back there, Stateside!

I just wanted to tell you that the ordering of the laptop was a breeze! you have a very talented web designer! Only one problem that I ran into though is that after shoosing to buy a skin for it, I wasn't given an option afterwards on what skin i would like placed on the laptop. Is there any way we can clear this problem up quickly?
Thanks again, Justin! you have been a great help!
