Looking at your requirements and at your budget, you may not be the easiest man to please but lets try. You need a 17" so...
I would have suggested a Sager 5793 in a shot but that doesnt seem to be available...
I would still suggest that line though with the 5797, even at entry level that would easily meet your needs for the next couple of years! At any time, you can upgrade the sager fairly easily as well so if you ever need that little bit more UMPH. you can get it not problem!

also take note; i'm not sure if it is possible for you to get your laptop from xotic in the timeframe you want it...they have minimal 1 day order processing before your product starts the build process that includes software installation and burn in...this is phase 2 and is listed as 3 to 7 business days long as a process...so you'll want to call them directly and see if your time table is something that can be worked around at all...

also keep in mind, expedited shipping options are very pricy on a box of the size a 17" system comes in.

i also recommend an entry config Sager NP5797.

Dramacydal,

The standard 5793 and 5797 are good suggestions. If you need some help with custom configuration let us know.
Also as pointed out already, your time frame may be a little short. Just like good food, quality takes time. They are pretty fast, but I don't know how fast XoticPC can get a machine to you. Personally, I'd rather wait a couple more days or something and get a well built and tested machine than some slapped together rush job that will start having problems from the get go.
If it's a matter of timing for an urgent need, perhaps some better planning on your part instead of a last minute thought would have been more effective.
