The NP8662 I ordered has only 4 USB ports. These will be eaten up quickly by my mouse (1), razer tarantula keyboard (2), and notebook cooler.

As far as a cooler I was originally looking at the Zalman NC2000 that gets raved about here, but I have also been looking at the NZXT Cryo LX with a built in 4 port USB hub. I cant seem to find whether these are 1.1 or 2.0 speed ports and how laggy they are. (My Razer Tarantula keyboard has 2 replacement USB ports built in but they are 1.1).

Should I get the Cryo with the built in hub or buy a separate powered USB hub? What brand USB hub do you recommend?

Remaining devices to attach are:
Printer
7200RPM external HD
Thumb drive as needed

I may attach the external HD via firewire. The placement of the firewire port on the 8662 is odd and I have to see if it gets annoying to have a cable there.

Also one last thing. Is there any powered USB hub out there that is capable of supporting keyboard and mouse input without lag? I'm pretty sure there's not, but it would be nice to not have to plug/unplug as many cords every time I go mobile.

I think the Zalman has some USB ports. As to whether they are powered, I don't know off hand.
Is that other cooler aluminum? (Aluminum wicks away heat the best).
I would look on Newegg for the hubs if you have not already. As to what the best one is, it's hard to say.
