Hey, I want some ideas for some games for my laptop, I have quiet a bit, but I want more. Heres my list:
-Crysis
-Crysis Warhead
-Left 4 Dead
-Rainbow 6 Vegas
-Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
-Splinter Cell Double Agent
-Halo
-Counter Strike 1.6
-Counter Strike Source
-Spore
-Sims 3
I want a bit more, maybe some games my GF can play (she played Sims 3 for 4 hours yesterday lol, when I wanted to get on to fix a virus that was bugging me all day, she just turned, kissed me a few times, went right back to playing. Damn her and her good looks) [sorry for the side bar], but Id like some more games that shed like, so if you guys have any suggestions in that department thatd help. I love FPS, but it might be nice to have a different type of game

I installed MoH:
Allied Assult
Spearhead
Breakthrough
Pacific something or other
CoD and one expansion disc (can't remember name)
Tiger Woods Golf (2007)
Will soon be installing:
Myst 1 and 2
Riven
Girls and games: I don't have a gf these days which pisses me off, but that's life. I do have a female friend who is pretty close to me and she plays WoW. She says she sucks at it, but I bet everything she could kick my ass within 2 seconds whether I've ever played or not. I know me and I suck at anything but trivia and golf games. (I just put my fps games into god mode and mess around otherwise I would get killed every 10 seconds even in single player, about every two seconds in multiplayer).
She wants me to play WoW with her, but I can't do the monthly fee at this time, it's a waste of money I don't have. Maybe in about 3 years I could. I don't know anything about the game, but she said she is going to come over and show me anyway. I don't know if I'll like it, but I'll pay attention and let her show me of course.

well for girls i noticed a lot of girls like games where your forced to manage things... (such as Sims) so maybe an RTS is a good idea?

Hmm, I was thinking about Sims. (It's less expensive than WoW, that much I know).
I've never played Sims. Can you do anything you want in Sims, even silly or funny stuff?
Is it hard to see for someone with bad eyes (me)? Is it all "top-down" pespective? (Gives me a headache).
Maybe I'll see if she might be interested in that as well.

I can only speak for myself, but I prefer MMO's (BUT NOT WOW - ok, now that that's clear...).
Dark Age of Camelot is an older game, but still my favorite with more depth than other mmo's (and the best pvp out of any I've tried), can level by killing mobs, other people, doing quests/tasks, etc.
City of (Heroes/Villains) is fun, shiny and very quest oriented. Fun story arc's and fun to just create your characters even.
Guild Wars has no subscription fee and is the thomas kincade of games imo. Quest oriented as well, and very progression based.
Warhammer - I was underwhelmed myself, perhaps too much like WoW or perhaps I was expecting more DAoC style control, not my thing but some seem to like it.
Those would be my suggestions (well, the top 3 anyway).

Forgive me for seeming dense....but as a casual gamer I do not know some of the lingo. For instance, what are:
MMO's
PVP's
RTS's
At least I know what FPS's are.:-/

MMO is a short form of MMORPG: Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game
World of Warcraft is an MMO
PVP stands for Player vs. Player, when games allow you to play online against other people. It's not really a game type, like MMO, but more a style of play. In an MMO, for example, you can play CO-OP, or cooperatively, or PVP, fighting against other players.
RTS is Real Time Strategy. Before WOW was an MMO, "Warcraft" was a RTS. I recommend Warcraft 3, the latest one produced. In a RTS, you control entire armies at once, establishing cities and building up troops to march off to battle.
Hope this helps...

mmo (mmorpg) - massively multiplayer online role playing game.
pvp - player vs player
rts - real time strategy
I generally only play fps and some rts. MMO I stereotype the sort of people who play... watch the world of wartcraft south park episode it's epic. But then again, I'm probably a prick.
I'll probably put Command and Conquer 4 (RTS) on there when it comes out. There is always the free and fun Combat Arms (FPS).

Sadly, sometimes that is accurate but thank God not the majority of the time. Unfortunately it is the loud minority.. and gl they can be so very loud. I did find much more of it in WoW just going to level 8 or 9 than I did in the other ones I listed, likely because it is the 'mass market' mmo at this time.

Might and Magic is worth noting. Ive been playing a clone of it (techincally it is the sequal to the Might and Magics predicessor) "Kings Bounty:Legends" It is a fun action RPG simmilar to... well might and magic :p the controls are a little unweildy but the gameplay is quite addictive :)
diablo 2 can be addictive to, and I can't wait for D3 to come along!

Then why did you get a tricked out gaming laptop?

Then why did you get a tricked out gaming laptop?
Because these are not just strictly gaming laptops. While the games I mess with once in a while are demanding, other work is demanding as well such as audio editing, etc.
I also could not find any laptops from the big brands that would allow me to configure to my wants and needs, plus they are over-priced for what you get or don't get as the case may be. On top of that, the big brands have no tech support, no customer service and next to nothing warranties.
I could have spent $1500 on a laptop I did not want from BestBuy by the time I had paid for the HDD to be wiped and XP to be put on along with all the rest of the bloatware and no OS or Driver discs or $1400 on one that would do everything I needed and then some plus has fabulous customer service, domestic free tech support, killer warranties, no bloatware, the OS I wanted and the full version discs of the OS and drivers.

Hmm....For me:
1)Crysis
2)Dead Space
3)Bioshock
4)Assassin's Creed
5)Mass Effect
6)The Witcher
7)STALKER-Shadow of Chernobyl
Damn, I really wanted Fallout 3..But I bought all my games from India, because they're the cheapest there, The Rupee equivalent of 20 Dollars even for the newest titles. However, Fallout 3 was banned in India(Where I originally hail from) because of some secular Issues. And IMO 50 Dollars for a game is kinda high, especially because I've become accustomed to the low price of India.
