1. Slide in plastic screen protector that also darkens or hides the screen when anyone other than user is viewing it.

2. Foldable rear legs in back tolift notebook from the surface.

3. Stable seating on a surface when the batter is removed. Currently the NP9890 rocks with the battery out.

4. DVI is fine but put the RGB port back on the Sagers.

5. Configure for LINUX users despite the fact software makers seem too dumb to realize their products would work better on a LINUX system.

6. Figure out how to lighten the Sager power packs (adapter) as the battery is all but worthless except maybe as a sort of onboard power supply that let's you save your work when a wall outlet fails or for an airport check to prove it really is a computer. Battery power just doesn't last long enough to do much otherwise. Understandable given Sagers like the NP9890 are true desktop replacements with all the power draw that comes with that truth. Lighten the power packs!

7. Add an option for customers to have their name (and company?) engraved on their notebooks to discourage theft.

8. Add a feature where a remote control (like the kind used for locking car) can be used to activate at least two vocal responses: "I'm over here" if you can't immediate locate the notebook and "Thief, thief put me down, I don't belong to you" if it's been snatched or otherwise stolen. Perhaps with flashing lights so Deaf customers could spot it if they're close enough. I've seen strip lights in Vegas placed on everything form stairs to belts. Low power, very bright.

9. Offer insurance for the sagers (ever heard of Safeware?).

10. Put the dual DVD drives back on the machines!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd suggest as well that SATA ports be added tp the Sagers. It's time despite the fact that some external devices like HDs do have dual connectors, many don't.

Right now I have two SATA externals, one which I can't use as it has no optioal USB 2.0 connection so far, I can't locate an adapter.

I have one more... make the webcam optional, not mandatory. Soldiers, gov't employees, and people who have to go to the courthouse a lot won't be able to bring their notebook into the building with a webcam... even if the drivers aren't installed, it's still there.

A lot of people see webcams as a good thing, and they can be. :) But for the people who don't see them as a good thing, we should be able to not have one! I know several military persons who couldn't buy a good laptop to bring with them on duty because of the webcams.

I say put that device where the webcam would have been!

I never knew that! Thanks for the tip. HMMM wonder if black adhesive sticker from the local OfficeDepot ot OfficeMax covering the camera lens will let you haul it in? The unit is Black (NP9261) so maybe the sticker and hence the camera would go unnoticed? Kind of dumb policy as the Sager's webcam points to the user not who is in front of you.

I suspect our society if not all societies, insist on being able to hide lies and other acts of misconduct so they can deny them and get away with it. But you're right, problem is, webcams are pretty much standard now due to video-based communication such as computer to computer, YouTube, videoconferencing and so forth. They aren't going away. But it would still be nice to provide a YES or NO option for customers.

No complants from me about that.

I'm all for optional web cam, too. And HDMI. I want HDMI. And as somebody said, we need at least 2 eSATA ports. And that's my $0.02.

And an option in the BIOS, where one can choose default fan speed: full, auto, or minimal. I sometimes forget to hit FN+1 when I start this baby up, and that scares me (a little)...

by default, are the fans on a minimal setting or an auto setting?

I dunno. Mine never speed up on their own, so I would have to say, it's not auto. At least I've never heard them come on full blast like they do on their own. It starts beeping when it gets too hot, but fans don't seem to compensate, unless you turn them on manually.
