USB Hub Problems

My machine is listed in my sig below. Having intermittent problems with any hub I use with my notebook. Usually, my mouse will flicker in and out, and I can hear Vista detecting its disconnection, and immediate reconnection. Currently using the G9 laser mouse. Also happens to my G13 game pad. Just noticed that my Blackberry Bold also flickers in and out when plugged into a hub.

The odd thing is none of my hardware has problems when plugged directly into the USB port on the notebook.

Anyone have any tips or tricks up their sleeve? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm certainly no expert with USB hubs, but I have ran into problems with my setup which isn't much different than yours. I run my mouse to the hub along with other small stuff (iphone etc.) The keyboard and notebook cooler I run to the computers own usb ports. The notebook cooler just because it draws a fair amount of power, and the keyboard and mouse I separate because they just seem to work better that way.

Huh! I never thought to move the notebook cooler! Will give it a shot.

Still going, not a single problem... think you definitely are onto something. If it was my Antec cooler I feel silly, but glad it's fixed!
