I own a Sager 9262 with a Q6600. I know that this is a laptop and isnt efficient with overclocking, but is it ok to overclock this bad boy a little bit? is it worth it? anyone has any help, clues, ideas, or suggestions? i do have a laptop cooler and its dual fan. I need some opinion on this since i dont want to screw up my nice laptop. i like to play games at the highest settings possible and yeah.... :D thanks in advance

First of all, are you referring to overclocking the CPU or GPU ?
Secondly, you have a quad core! Any game today recommends just any dual core.. And to top it off, you have a 8800M GTX video card, if not two. Why would you possibly even need to overclock ? :)
People generally find the need to overclock their hardware when it gets old and outdated, unable to perform well in modern games.. I would say that's the right time ;)
I'd just use it the way it is IMO... Even if you overclock it, you wouldn't OC it MUCH as you yourself said...

That wouldn't give you much improvement any way... Maybe a very little improvement in 3DMark scores, but in real life environment, like playing Crysis, you wouldn't notice much of a difference..
So I'd say you just stick to the really top hardware that you already have! :)

i heard Sager makes it where you can not oc your processers. is that true. in ref to the cpu, not the gpu.

I doubt that, though I have not attempted overclocking. The X9000 is even advertized as overclockable.

yeah i agree. all of intels X series processers are suppose to have all the multipliers unlocked where you can oc to your hearts content, but like i said i was just repeating what i read somewhere and wanted some feed back on that. thanks

what i meant was my CPU. The Q6600 is very overclockable (atleast on the desktop world). Im not running so hot in crysis and i wana improve it. maybe from 2.4ghz to let say.... 2.6 2.7Ghz maybe? the videocard i know u cant overclock (only for the sager 9262? thats what ive read) so thats out of the question. i just wana see the improvements, eventhough it wont probably be much :)
