View Full Version : NP5797 Fan Noise Issue

My NP5797 is only a month and a half old. Every so often, one of the fans starts to spin up rather high (higher than idle) and I can hear a noise that's hard to describe. It's almost like there's something just very slightly hitting one of the blades. It's either that, or the fan bearing is starting to go already. It's which ever fan is on the right side of the system.

The odd thing is that the fan usually spins up when there's a very low load on the system (web surfing, email, etc). I have Everest Pro to monitor CPU and HD temps, and Riva Tuner to monitor GPU temps. When that fan usually spins up, the CPU Cores are at 86F, and the GPU is at 116F. I've also had the system taxed hard, but not heard the fan noise.

Anyone else heard anything like this? It's intermittent, but happens frequently. It's just enough to make me concerned, but not enough to get really worried about it.

Any thoughts or ideas on this?

This certainly sounds odd. Overall your CPU and GPU temps look like they are perfect. So that certainly doesn't explain your fan problems. One would think that if you were having issue with your fans that your temps would be off the charts as well. You might escalate your problem to our tech support to see if they have any ideas for you. The number to call is: 1-(877) 645-9312 it is 24/7 and US based.

I am sorry to hear you are having problems. Please let us know what tech support comes up with.
