9262 SLI UPDATE

Sager NP9262 & SLi nVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX Status

Most if not all bugs have been identified and isolated with fixes that are working with the beta version of the drivers. We are now just waiting on a final build of the driver with MS WHQL approval, then it will be ready to be released from the Clevo factory.

Sager expects to start shipping our NP9262 w/nVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX to customers on the week of March 24, 2008.

Do we have to wait if we ordered SLi, or could we request to have our lappy built & shipped w/one card in it, and then have the 2nd one shipped to us whenever and slap it in ourselves?

Accordingly to this news:

a) when start test of QX9xxx series Penryn inside 9262?
b) after sucessfully (we hope :wink: ) Penryn test process, customers that have waited so long for SLI could choose to wait a bit more to obtain a swap from Q6600/Q6700 processor with corresponding QX9450/QX9550?
c) could we expect that swap will be done for free (exactly as happened for 5792->5793 processors (http://www.xoticpcforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=2450)) considering that QX9450/QX9550 could have similar prices than Q6600/Q6700?

Ok so heres my question, I bought the 9262 with only ONE 8800GTX, one of my GPU slots is empty. Is MY system upgradable to have 2 video cards? Im thinking it should, its SLI capable...

BTW, thanks for the prompt sending of my machine Xotic, Its at my house anxiously awaiting my arrival home from afghanistan. I will post again with the oohs and aahs of my benchmark expos when I get my hands on it :)

The 9262 does have 2 slots for 8800M GTX GPUs, so you can easily put in another card when the drivers are released.

Last I heard they were shipping back orders yesterday but I haven't received a tracking number or anything yet.
