Reinstall the drivers from the Sager site. This is some what of a common issue (same problem with mine). Reinstalling the drivers will fix it right up. Also first try holding Function Key+F10 which turns the camera on and off.

Install the driver after the reboot. First time round cleans out the old driver.

I tried installing the driver from sagernotebook for 9262 and it doesn't seem to work. I did a reboot after uninstalling the driver and a reboot after resintalling the driver and still I can't get it to work. When I run the Bisoncam software it just asks me to press Fn+F10 to activate the camera. When I do that it still says the same thing. I also noticed that this software seems different than the software that first came with the notebook.

Maybe tech support can help you then.... reinstalling the drivers solved my problem. Maybe try the disk drivers (if its on there, idk for sure). Oh also, I updated the aero drivers and it got my fn+f10 function to work (I dont think it did before that). Wat error are you getting exactly? I had the registry key error, but if your cameras not activated then it will say hardware not found.

Ok I didn't see the optional drivers on the cd. cd driver seems to work fine it's just the driver on the website must be wrong.

That's good to hear! Maybe you were downloading the wrong OS drivers.... I.E. XP for Vista or maybe 32-bit for 64-bit.

No they were for the correct OS. I made sure of that a few times. But all is working in good order now. Thanks for the help.

The driver from the Sager site comes with BisonCam whereas the preinstalled (non-working) one comes with VideoView. I got the registry key errors too and uninstalling D-MAX and installing driver from Sager site worked for me. Although the names for the utility/front-end are different, I think the applications are the same. They look identical.
EDIT: I messed around with it a bit, because I found the whole thing curious. There seem to be 3 drivers on the CD in the Others>04Camera folder (if I remember correctly): Sertek, D-Max, UVCBison. I reinstalled the D-Max from the CD and got it to work, too. This time w/o the registry error. So, I probably just stick with the driver on the CD rather than the DL'd version (listed as USB2.0 2M WebCam v6.10.27.2)

Has anyone found a driver set that lets you disable the auto-contrast function of the camera? If that can't be disabled the background removal for webcam apps won't work.

This is a crosspost from tech support as the only reply i got was from Justin and was a link to this post which i've already read. But maybe you guys got the magical answers. i hope so cause i'm hating the bisoncam and the days of my life wasted trying to get this piece of junk to function.
Here goes:
I have read all the related threads in the forum and spent three days googleing for solutions but i can not get the bisoncam to work.
bisoncam shows up in dev mgr as corrupted driver code 39. i can turn the cams power on and off with fn f10 no problem but the drivers are not working.
i have tried every possible way to uninstall and reinstall the bisoncam software/drivers package with the original drivers from the Cd that came with the notebook and also with the drivers downloaded from sagernotebooks. both are the same, i only bought this laptop a couple of months ago but only recently did an install.
drivers release notes are dated 3/30/07 and are v. 6.3264.0.02.1. (though dev mgr lists the drivers when installed as 10/24/06 v. 6.32.0.2) OS is XP pro sp2. i have followed the instructions as to the driver install order to the letter and have also uninstalled and reinstalled them all multiple times from chipset on down. i've even unpacked the drivers from the cab files manually and tried to install the drivers that way...no love there either.
at no point has the camera shown any sign of life, i always get the "turn on the camera power" message when opening bisoncam software. nor is there any sign of the cam in explorer. bisoncam IS listed under USB root hub as receiving power so it does seem to be connected internally.
there are also a number of BDA and codec listed in dev mgr under sound/vid/controllers as broken when the cam software is installed but they disappear when the software is removed.
btw: there are two sets of drivers install packages under 02Camera, D-max and Sertek. the driver install cd defaults to the Sertek bisoncam for setup and i have installed the same from the downloaded drivers. D-max does not seem to install drivers, only software and fails to do anything installed alone or in conjunction with the sertek drivers package. i know, i have tried many combinations many many times so far out of desperation to try and get this thing to work.
please, i need help with this.

okay i just cannot get the camera to work...I have BisonCam installed and the BisonCam pop up box will start when I begin it, but it won't actually start operating as a video cam....I installed the BisonCam software from the CD....
Any help would be appreciated, who knows, maybe I just don't know how to turn it 'on'!
later,

I think Tranced Gurl can help you in more detail, since she has the same model (Something about D-Max drivers if I recall). The camera problem is on pretty much every unit though.... perhaps Xotic can make sure it works properly before shipping  .

if ya wanna use the cam during a yahoo chat session, turn it on by pressing fn + f10 first before even going into yahoo. then go into it. close out the webcam and hit invite on yahooim and it should work then. i dont know if yahooim was the app in which u were trying to use it on but that is just one scenario...laterz!!

If still needed, I can go hunt down exactly what I did, and where I found the drivers that work for me. Let me know, because I pretty much have to redo to recreate, to give you the exact info on how I got it to work. It didn't work out of the box, I tell you that much.
Anyhoo, one thing I noticed with everything is, that you have to hit FN+F10 before you initialize any app, even the Video View junk that comes with it, or it'll error out. Since, FN+F10 turns the beast ON (and off). :)

K, I figured it out during the notorious scrapping of Vista and starting over (twice), because like a lamah I installed the SAME driver yet again, so I guess that's why Billy Boy included System Restore, so part-time morons like myself have a shortcut to use.
The driver for the USB cam that works can be found on Sager's 1.80A CD. This CD was included with the parent SLi GPU that was mailed out to all us peeps who ordered them during the config phase of our lappies. It's got black printing on it. The CD that was shipped with the lappies originally (at least when I ordered mid-May 08) are v1.70D and have red print. Don't install through Browse, use the actual menu and click on the Web Cam option under Optional. DO turn the thing on first by hitting FN+F10, or it'll error out. Also, if you're not coming from a fresh install, make sure you kill all remaining traces of the old driver.
Enabling 'Show hidden devices' in device manager does wonders for that. After you add the enviornmental variable DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES to System and set the Value to 1 Then, right-click on the Cam in Device Manager, select uninstall, and check the 'delete driver software' check box. Hit OK. Restart. Turn on cam. Install aforementioned driver. Voila. One working cam, w/o probs. :)
Oh... in case you don't know where to add the variable:
Windows>Right-click Computer>Properties>Advanced System Settings>Advanced>Environment Variables>System variables>New
