Sager np8690 high-pitch whine

Does anyone with this unit experience a sort of high-pitched whiny noise?
As soon as u plug in a usb device, a screeching sound begins. Sometimes without even plugging any usb in, the noise starts and stops. I tested with the charger unplugged and the noise still continues so must be from the laptop. Other forums suggest that the screeching sound is coming from the fan but this shouldn't be the case as the problem's still there with the "battery saver" settings on.
Any suggestions to solve this problem (besides shipping laptop back)

I suggest calling support to see if they know what it might be. High pitch whine is usually not good though if it's loud. Personally, I would panic and cry anytime I hear a foreign sound coming from my lappy, but that's me.
