Hy guys,
I did not buy my notebook from XoticPC unfortunattly, i bought it from Sager as I did not know about you.
I reccently started having problems with my notebook. It all started with Windows 7. I sent to Sager TechSupport an e-mail and all I got back was a stupid answear written in bad english, even worse then mine (I do not natively speak english).
My original e-mail was:
"Hy,
I have a Sager NP 5796 based on Clevo M570TU series. It has a iCore2 Extreme Processor with 4Gb RAM. I recently fresh instaled Windows 7 Ultimate and since then I had various problems.
Because on your website I did not find Windows 7 drivers for the NP 5796 I took the drivers from the NP 5797 as it is the successor of the series.
My first problems were computer freezes and I had to force restart, but then it freezed at disk check which I found to be a Windows 7 problem, and got by using the start up repair wizard.
But since then it got worse. My notebook started shutting down while at maximum use (I use my notebook for 3D visualisation and this happened while rendering with V-Ray in 3DS Max).
Can you help my out with this problem? My biggest problem is that I am not from the USA, the notebook was bought for me by a friend living in the USA, and it is really hard for me to send it back to you.
P.S. I tried to locate the problem: 1.cheking the charger (no particular sign), 2.battery (i have no clue what to look at), 3.BIOS (old, since the date I bought the nootebook august `08), 4.cooling system (the fans make the same usual noise, it seems to heat up under the fan for the video card, some data from Lavalys Everest UE - CPU 44*C/113*F,GPU Diode 49*C/120*F)
Thank you in advance,
Sincerely, Octavian"
Their response in corect english was: " We do not recomend that you install Windows 7 as we do not have any drivers. Better install Windows Vista or XP".
Now I am asking you guys for some real answers for my problems. I do not belive that this problems are generated only by drivers, and if they are what can I do. I really do not want to go back to Windows Vista after I paid for Windows 7.
Thank you guys in advance,
Octavian

There are a few of us with the same problem(s) that you are having with Windows 7 on the NP5796/7. The only solution that has worked 100% for me is to change the Windows Power Plan to "High Performance".

There is another user on a different forum who sent his laptop back to the vendor for repair. Once they fix the problem we will all know what is needed. Until then I would recommend using the "High Performance" Power Plan setting.

Thanks,
I will try to render with High Performance Power Plan. I really hope is something that easy and I do not have some cooling malfunction. If this does not work i will try to update my bios. And if that fails I will swich back to Windows Vista.
The bizzare thing is that the notebook overall seams to work better in Windows 7. I speak about using programs that do not put the CPU to maximum use, programs like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
I will let you guys know how things went.
Sincerly,
Octavian
