Hey everyone! I currently own a Sager NP8662, and love it, but it's time for me to get a new machine for college.

I originally wanted a more portable and lightweight machine, and purchased a HP Envy 15. I had some initial problems with the machine, and I'm 99% sure I will be returning it due to customer service issues.

So, naturally, I've returned to XoticPC! I'm interested in a 15" machine, and think that the Sager NP8690 looks great.

My question is relatively simple. Is the NP8690 bigger/heavier than the NP8662? If so, how much bigger and heavier? The NP8662 isn't very big or heavy, imo, and a similarly built machine wouldn't be an issue. However, if it is a lot bulkier, it might cause an issue. If this is the case, is there an alternative machine for me?

About the same size. If you can handle one you can handle the other?

Edit: No one else thinks either are mobile?

As a point of note I find the 8662 about as moble as my old, 15.4" dell (3 year) laptop (if not a tiny bit heavier)

Yeah, the HP Envy 15 was light as hell, but it has too many quality issues to make it worth it. Perhaps I've gotten used to my NP8662, but it doesn't seem too heavy or ridiculous.

As long as the NP8690 isn't bigger or bulkier, I'll be fine.

Anyone else have experience with both laptops?
