I need a new laptop to play Left 4 Dead 2, Crysis, Empire: Total War, etc. at max settings. Any ideas? (Looking for stock laptop, no upgrades)
So far I've been interested in getting the
Asus G73jh-a1
and my budget is only $2000. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :smile2:

I would go for the ASUS G73-JH 1 then. You won't find any other laptop, that gets the quality it gets, along with no noise and great cooling system. The only thing that is better then this is graphics with SLI / Crossfire, and those are very expensive, and the cooling isn't as good. and in many games, it doesn't add much performance. So stick with the G73

G73 is very nice. The Sager NP8690 is in budget.

thanks :) I think I'm going with the ASUS G73JH-A1. I'll order mine in a few months. I didn't see anywhere on the forums (I'm new here) where I could ask this question, any suggestions for a good gaming monitor to run through this laptop?

In a few months the G73 might not even be the hottest Asus. But at least you will be able to get one? And yea if others out there not all bad.
I don't know monitors that well.

You might want to look at the Samsungs. You can also go to a store that has several brands and such of monitors running to see the PQ and everything which may help you find a good one. Also try looking on Newegg.
I would however stay away from Viewsonic. they used to be on top with excellent quality monitors, but over the last 2 or 3 years they have produced only crap as far as I have seen. However, that's my opinion, you'll be able to see for yourself if you find some to look at and decide for yourself.
Also keep in mind the GPU being used to display in the stores, it may not be as good as you can get through Xotic, so that can have an effect on display quality.

I have to say after having purchased 3 samsung monitors, and 3 samsung LCD TV's their quality is outstanding. I've never regretted paying just a "little" extra for a Samsung, even though often they were one of the most affordable in the given size/price range. My desktop with an ATI 5770 card runs my Samsung 24" LCD 1920 x 1200 monitor flawlessly with games or anything. That's my $.02

Thanks for all your input guys :) I've decided on the monitor, instead I think I'm just going to get a 40' Sony Bravia LCD TV. Now I just need to figure out what kind of cables I need lol. Just one last question if anyone knows the answer to this, would the ASUS G73JH-A1 stock settings (i7-720qm included) be able to run Crysis on ultra-high settings?

I have a 50" panasonic plasma tv in my bedroom....I have an old gateway (which sucks) hooked up to it. I only watch movies I have stored in my puter with it, but I can tell you that it is awesome!!!! Hoping that the g73 will look even better with hdmi output.....as far as lcd tv's go...samsung is ALWAYS the best. Plasma= panasonic. note to user- plasmas are always better than lcd in every way.
