LOL to post anything, the post has to be at least 10 characters...so when I put the quote thing I was quoting it cause it was funny and true and didn't really need to say anything...so I put /10 character...sometimes if we can get away with it we just put /10char

OK, so now you tell me???? Jesus, I had no idea wth you guys were talking about:laugh::laugh: Now I feel like the dunce in the room:(, as far as taking 4-6 disks to copy windows, how many disks do you get when you order the upgrade on the order page? 1 or 4-6? And if only one, how the "F" do they do it?

When its one 1 disk, like the Windows installer disk its compressed so it takes up less space, when its a direct copy/backup its all uncompressed data.

I would also like to know if 1 or 6 DVDs are sent to you when you select the system recovery backup disks option.

I imagine they could clone the original System Recovery DVD that was sent out with the first batches of G73's. That was 1 disk.

I can't stand the wait much longer.
Sadly I think there really isn't much of an alternative at this point.
I sure wish we would get some more info tho. I guess there is nothing to say other then a few days after march 23rd we'll see people start to get emails. I haven't seen the G73 actually available anywhere else either tho.

Ive been reading this forum for a while now and finally decided to join.
Preordered on 2/2 and still havent been told when I should be getting it, if it doesn't get here in the next week or two ill have to cancel because after that I'm leaving for a study abroad and simply need a computer. I ordered just a plain A2, would never imagine it would take so long.

I'm not sure what the ship dates were for the a2 model. I know they are different from the a1. Some guys switched to the a2 earlier and got their puter, but others are still waiting. BTW, I ordered the a1 on 2/3/10 and I'm still in phase 1. Next ship date is the 23rd for the a1. You might want to check to see when the next a2 shipment is with Justin......good luck

The dates were the same for both models. I asked. I'm going to drop the forum for a bit, too. I can't stand this crap. People getting skipped. No real information on dates. Peace.

Are you showing "phase 1" for order status? I payed by money order when I pre-ordered on Feb 18, and my status FINALLY changed from "awaiting payment confirmation"(I payed a month ago?) to "phase 1".

Does that mean that the payment was accepted because my lappys instock or is everybody that payed in "phase 1" already? I thought payment wasn't accepted until the unit arrived. I'm slightly confused...

I'm paying by credit card which means they don't charge until it ships and mine was phase 1 the day I ordered. When you pay with paypal/check/money order it goes through right away because it's considered a cash payment.

I jest.. But in all seriousness, I am a little upset too. I placed an order on the 3rd, and wanted to change some components of the order. I contacted Xotic and told them this, and they just told me to submit a new order with the changes and they'd cancel the first, preserving my spot in line. Well it took four conversations and 9 days for them to finally do that, and as far as I can tell my spot in line was not preserved, just the original order canceled (despite being told numerous times that it would be preserved).

I am sorry to hear you didn't get a response to a email. I have personally researched your email address and show one email coming in on Friday, March 05, 2010 9:11 AM and was answered Friday, March 05, 2010 2:58 PM. If this is not the email you are speaking of you can PM Me on the details. (It was in regards to changes beyond what was listed online)

I understand the wait is getting to some of you but please understand this is not the only machine we have to produce. Not only are there many G73's to build and test but also many other models. Our production goes through different shifts of machines. Some days will be G73's and other days are other models in a continuous rotation. Also understand if there is no update it is going to appear as a canned response as there is no new info. We always provide honest answers, if information doesn't change you will get the same update each time it is asked. We appreciate all your patience.

We are unfortunately unable to provide a number for anyone in line.

Well I ordered on 2-1 and still no news for me, I am getting annoyed at others who ordered same day as me moving to Phase 2 and I'm still in limbo.

Justin, I know you guys are busy but when you say "We are unfortunately unable to provide a number for anyone in line." I have to ask... why?

You cant give us a number or information about how many units you have vs how many orders you have to fill? Its pretty easy to give us this info.

If you cant give your consumers basic info like this maybe your order numbers should be randomly generated 1-500000 and everyday you draw three names out of the hat for shipping each day, because that's what many of us feel like your doing. Daily we hear about orders being processed out of order and ahead of other people for no reason, now all we are asking for in return is some ACTUAL information about this situation. Because if you keep us in the dark much longer I have a strong feeling people will go elsewhere with their money and you will be sitting on a bunch of G73's and no one around to buy them.

They are not going to do that....say they have 200 orders for 3rd of Feb....they have break it all down into who ordered what? What upgrades they purchased, different models a2/a1/8690, so on and so on... they barely are able to fill orders as is, and you want them to slow down and sort thru every order just so you know your place in line? If they would have been doing it from the start...ok, but they didn't (don't know why) but they didn't and they are not going to now...sorry, we are in the same boat. My 2 cents worth

Why would they need to factor all that in? if they have 200 orders for the 3rd I'm sure they know if they have enough laptops to fulfill those orders, if they dont they should let the customer know where they are in terms of next shipment etc. They dont have to slow down to give us this information, basic information that pretty much any company I've ever dealt with openly tells you, they all know if they have an item in stock and how many of said item them have. And all it takes is some simple subtraction (or a calculator if three-four digit math is too hard) to tell people if they have enough and if not when they will get more in.

if xotic is relatively small like i hear it is then its understable . i work in a warehouse shipping computer parts for dell . we ship around 12-15k orders a day but we have alot of people . i think xotic can handle more than 200 a day unless the hours are short . but it doesnt seem like they are working overtime lol

We all know everyone's frustrated waiting to receive their laptop and directing your "suggestions" on how they should conduct their highly-wanted, unavailable G73 situation at xotic isn't going to do anything or change anything. And in most cases, xotic hasn't taken one penny of our money until it has been shipped. So, if you don't like the way xotic is doing their business, well then, vote with your wallet. Otherwise, just like everyone else, be patient. It's not like they're trying to screw us.

I don't know of other businesses that are giving you what you are asking for (expected shipment dates [although xotic did provide this to us], quantities, your number in line and where the number is currently at, etc). And I don't know of any place that has them in stock either. The places I've usually shopped at tell you that when they have it, they'll let you know and don't expose themselves by making promises they can't guarantee to keep.

Suggestion. A good way to pass the time is to read the g73 threads at notebookreview. People are receiving their G73s and posting their thoughts. If you're really depressed, you can read their "The Sad/Depressed G73JH-A1 Future Owners Group (http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=460040)" thread.

How long is it taking to ship noncustomized ones out? Anybody have any ideas?

I got my Phase 4 shipped 2 days after i got my phase 2. And i had a Stock A1.

Admin@XoticPC
03-18-2010, 06:11 AM

Our order number system consists of everyone's order number. We would have to have a new ordering system for G73's. No computer company out there provides you a "number in line" you are for any type of pre order item, I don't understand why anyone would think we can either.

We are having to explain the same thing many times. I do not understand why some of you assume everyone can just ship at one time. If orders are in production and there are delays (others after it could ship) or there are order processing delays it holds up a order after it. As you have seen within a couple days of order date orders are shipping in order number format.

In addition it is not in our interest of security and competition to have others know, besides our staff, how many units are in our warehouse.

We have stated and continue to state we understand the frustration and appreciate all of your patience but again if we are going to have to defend ourselves regularly in this thread we are going to need to close them down.

UntilMoraleImproves
03-18-2010, 06:54 AM
Well, maybe that is the best course of action then. If you don't want us to have an open forum to discuss our thoughts and feelings on the situation, then you should close it down. For the most part, we have been a patient bunch. It isn't often that one orders something that's over $1.5K and then have to wait 6, 7, 8 or more weeks to find out when the product might ship. It might not be in your best interest to publish your numbers or places in line but it is probably a good idea to (at least privately) tell people when their machine will go out.

I know that I am not trying to offend Xotic in my posts (I can't speak for everyone though) and I think the forums have value. In the end, it is your board and if you aren't happy with the posts and people voicing their frustrations, then maybe it is time to dump the threads.

Justin@XoticPC
03-18-2010, 07:05 AM
UMI, the problem is not with keeping a open forum, it is some of the comments that are being made. We are doing our best to keep up with orders and the many other customers we are servicing/producing who did not order G73's. We advise everyone that you will be contacted when your unit is available. Until then we can't speculate on when a order will ship. There are too many variables that could lead us to providing a customer with false hope about shipment. That is something we will not do. There is a difference between voicing frustration for a wait and way some of the comments have been presented on here. Some of the posts on here are far different then the actual facts.

It is equally if not more frustrating for us. Again we appreciate everyone's patience. We are up front and honest with every customer and advised everyone who ordered this is a pre ordered item and you can be waiting several weeks for shipment.

We would like to keep the threads open but if we are being accused of things that are not true or the thread is not peaceful we unfortunately have not other action but to close it down.

We greatly appreciate this. :) Please keep in mind we are heavily producing many models that were on back order such as the N61JQ, N71JQ and some G51's. Not to mention all the other items being produced. We have to rotate models in production to ensure each model has it's fair share of production time. Even though some of you will likely get a machine it can be a little bit of time until we get to your G73 Order and make contact.

I dont know if I have mentioned this, we also have to measure where we are at on A1's and then know where the line is when stock runs out and we start contacting customers about switching to A2's. Remember we keep the entire G73 pool as one item and make contact for what model is available. It is much easier on our end to fulfill the item ordered but when we have to start contacting people with changing to a A2 or whatever it is, it takes allot of time to update our system & the customer with the new configuration and coordinate production.

Going back to your comment on moderating, we could do this but will likely offend some of you if we were to start deleting comments. As you see we have not deleted anyone's posts. We just ask everyone keep non factual comments off this thread.

Maybe you guys need to quit taking preorders and do like everybodyelse. If you have it in stock take the order as you receive them. It is highly frustrating that you see other ppl getting these machines from some other dealer delivered, we preordered thinking that it would be the quickest way to get one. Turns out we are still waiting...BTW, I preordered and prepaid as well, I'm not going to cancel my order and I am happy with you guys. If it will help, I will drive out to Cali and deliver the load of g73 to you, minus mine of course :)

Unfortunately we can not stop taking pre orders based it in being back ordered. We are 100% up front and honest that any order could be waiting several weeks as we wait for stock from ASUS. People can't compare a small time dealer that maybe sells 5 or 10 of these and fills all of their orders for 2 months. That is not a good way to gauge when you will be shipped. Without revealing to much information I can state we receive priority support and allocation from ASUS but also have allot of orders to fulfill as you see by the pre order list.

This whole situation is rather unfortunate. And my impression of it is simply Xoticpc is really just caught in the middle. If someone is really unhappy take a few deep breaths, try to let cooler heads preval, and if you can't get passed it do what you need to to make it better for you. Coming here and macking accusations only stirs up concern and problems for others. It is that whole mob mentality thing

I had a moment of weekness a while back. I got really antzy after a SSD drive i ordered came in. I open the box flashed the drive to the latest firmware and now it is just sitting in my dresser waiting for the laptop to come in. I did a search and found one of those sites that stated it was instock, Ordered and then promptly found out a few days later it wasn't instock(they sold out that day) but they expected it in within the next week. I choose to cancel as i had time in with XoticPC. I choose a company known for great customer service before and after the sale over one that just had it in stock.

I had an interesting conversation with the reps from that other company. We probably talked for about 30 min discussing how this rollout was handled for his company and the influence ASUS has on it. It was very enlightening and well a bit of a bummer at the same time. It gave me a new perspective on this whole thing, and to put it simply my patients has been restored completely. I honestly believe that XoticPC is a great company and they are acting in the best manor possible to prevent customer from being miss lead. All a estimated shipdate does is potentitially provide a false hope of when an item might arrive. The only way something like that would work is if they just always over estimated, and then what is the value in that.

We preordered an item that from all I can tell is being produced in somewhat limited supplies initially by ASUS. I could easily be wrong on that but it clearly appears that way. That with XoticPC's fantastic reputation has potentially cuased this issue to be bigger. The fact they are known for great service has drawn allot of people here.

Also a slight reality check. For giggles a few days ago i checked to see what a certain company's 17" gaming laptop would take to ship. They are stateing middle of april. So even though there is a large wait for the G73, it isn't that far off from that other major gaming brand.

Ok, now that the storm has passed, I have one question: What about the machines that require no customizations or testing? What would delay those so long? The place in line? Just curious is all because like some have stated that they had stock and it took longer to get an update for someone who had customizations and they were ordered on the same day.

i really need to say that i didn't expect laptop to be ship before end of march, if you dont believe ask Justin i even asked him if he can't guarantee me that my delivery gona be here before 1st april don't ship it until i come back around 15 april so yes from very beginning i new it gonna be long ride and everebodey on this forum was great so dont' ruin it now...if you are lucky you getting best laptop, for best money, perfect support and service...you need to be over that this unit is' not made to be for massive production ...it's for gamers and game only so ASUS not gonna make some big buks with it, but it gonna win lot of awards and new customers...
leave Xoticpc alone and look for another place to buy if you think defrent, it small company compared to amazon and newegg so stop comparing them
and live your frustration for your self because there is a lot inside of Xoticpc already
my unit supposed to be add with 6200 wifi but didn't...didn't ask way, maybe to match losing time for nothing, maybe because of my mail saying that im living to Brazil on 1st and coming back on 15in i just care that my unit is working well when i get it, i dont even doubt!!!

For those of you discussing the wireless card awhile back here's an email I got
From what I have heard as far as feedback from the customers that are using the new centrino 6200 and 6300’s are that they have never used a wireless card like this before.  One of the guys said he was at a diner 6 blocks from his house and he was still picking up 3 bars from the router at his house.  You literally double the throughput, its dual band so you can run at the higher frequency and its double the throughput.  In my experience this card is an easy recommendation to upgrade to.

Also, I don't know if they're are any database developers here, but to truly understand how they are going about preserving order places, you would have to understand normalization, primary keys, surrogate keys, foriegn keys, and such. Just saying that because I assume the que is database driven.

I know what you're saying about the database, but if that's true then they should easily have allocation numbers put into a database, too for each unit (all laptops, not just G73) they have. Unfortunately that's not the case, but I hope they do have the que at least in a database form. If the latptops were in a database and linked to the customer database, you could easily find out how many units still need to be ordered, etc.

I imagine there are probably customer and allocation tables in their database, but they are not going to release this info because it would frighten potential customers away to know how far they are away from getting their laptop. Also, remember asus may be keeping them in the dark or (most likely) they cannot accurately predict deliverary dates to their facilities because of unforseen customs delays.

We are busting out of the seams in our current location. We have a approximate 2,000+SQ FT office and 7 people work in this location. A bit of good news, we have in the last month purchased our future building but can not close on it until May 10th. After some construction is done we will be moving our facility around middle to late May. The new location is triple the size of our current location and we plan to add additional staff at that time.

Google maps is a nice little app. Although there maybe nothing wrong with it you will find some of our competition still operate out of their home.

Hey I guess whatever works for them. I bet you guys will get a lot more business once you get into your new place. It's just a trickle effect. You'll be able to fulfill orders faster so you'll have faster turn arounds. Either way, you're doing a great job with the resources you have available.

Hey guys... it's official, the G73 GAMING THEATER is officially finished and awaiting the guest of honor. I will definitely have a great environment in which to play with my new toy when it arrives... Until then I'm going to catch up on some action packed blu-ray flicks on my BIG SCREEN. If you would like to see the pics and details just stop by my profile page and check out the G73 Gaming Theater Albumn. Semi retired... and yes I did the entire build totally by myself except for the carpet install which was included in the purchase price of the custom theater room carpet.

Not only that, letting customers know how many they received in house and what they ordered would give an idea to the competition how many was received, etc. Then you start having wars with distributors... i.e. "how come they got this many when I only got that many" and I'm sure that's not a healthy relationship between the distributor and the end-company.

Also, I don't know if they're are any database developers here, but to truly understand how they are going about preserving order places, you would have to understand normalization, primary keys, surrogate keys, foriegn keys, and such. Just saying that because I assume the que is database driven.

For an outfit like xotic, I don't think they'd have to worry about creating complex tables to do such a simple thing. They just look at the next order #. One table is all they really need and just "select <whatever you need> from <that one master table> order by <your order #>". I believe in the KISS principle and so do many db admins.

I also received an email today about '"Batch 1" asking me about receiving an A2 and if there were any customizations I would want to make to stock.

They also stated that to maintain order number integrity they will not move anyone into processing until everyone has replied. :) I would assume that means anyone from the batch of orders I am part of.

Glad to get an official update about the order, so as long as people reply quickly, should be Phase 2 soon it sounds like.

Yeah except for when you have that one customer who orders more than one item or changes they're order multiple times. IMO they would have to have at least three CUSTOMER, ORDERS, and INVENTORY, and most likely many more. Also, they already have a serious complexity to their tables thanks to the shopping cart but that's just how I see it

To add some brevity to the discussion. It is going well now but "god" did have to come in before and as another poster said "chew a little ass".

The discussion about the size of the place (Xotic). Makes me think of some euphemisms. It is not the size it is how you use it. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Good things come in small packages. Anything more than a mouthful/handful is a waste.

I am still trying to get the funds together. I am still going to order. I have several thoughts. The production/delivery shortage is going to level off. Some members are getting 1333Mhz RAM at no charge. This is not unheard of. At some point they have to install the RAM on hand to produce units. While I am happy with the unit stock if they are forced to put 820's in to fill orders I would not shed a rear on that either.

And on a further philosophical thought. every time any of us buy a notebook within 3 months something better is offered. And there is a moderate level of whining. That is why the number three most important concern of buyers after components, cost, is future proof. No such thing. If I order tomorrow I have a better shot at getting an 820 at stock price. That is twofold. One simply inventory of 820's exceeds 720's because of demand. Secondarily if Intel releases a higher spec'd CPU 820 fills the cost slot the 720 filled prior? I been watching this stuff for years I seen stranger things happen. Not saying I care I would order as is but I have seeing stranger things happen.

Hang in there guys. If anything does as I said you might be glad it took a while?

Powerpack, some interesting food indeed!
I have had a desktop for 8 years...same one different components added as time passed! It's always good to start with a good platform to build on, as I don't always have the funds available when to build a new system!
It may be different with a laptop, although I gave my son my laptop after 7 years, when he needed something for email and surfing the web.

My plan is to go w/the stock (plus the N6200 wireless), install my own SSD (flashing it with the new firmware as I write) and then upgrade to the 820QM some day when the price point is more reasonable. That should buy me some time. I just wish ASUS had gotten a USB 3.0 port in the rig but I guess that's just not in the cards right now.

I have the same plan, but don't plan to upgrade the processor. The thing has plenty of horsepower and by the time it gets too weak to play the market's games, I doubt a processor upgrade will help you much. By then it'll be time for a new xotic laptop!

So here's a question to anyone who's received their G73;

Hows the backpack? Is it just kinda cheap/gimmicky, or could you actually see yourself trusting it to house your laptop? You see I need a backpack for college, and it's so difficult to find backpacks with laptop holders which can hold 17 inch lappys. Is the included bag worthwhile, or should I just buy one of the 60-70$ full-blown Targus bags?

I decided that it might be best to go with the A2, and keep everything else, wireless is the 6200, and I added Win7 Pro and three year on the warranty!
I left the ram as stock, because most people are getting 1333 anyways, and it really doesn't make that much difference is speed anyways 1% I believe!
I would like blue-ray but not necessary. ;)

If you have them do the ssd for you, they take one of the 500gb hdd in the laptop or so I am told when I changed my order and asked them about ssds. But they said they would take care of the os install and that both of the drives will be given a single partition instead of the multi one asus comes with it. Then you get the original OEM install disc as well in case you need to do a re-install at a later time.

I can confirm what JMW_WPN said about the hard drive. I asked XoticPC about what happens to upgrades since they appear to be full retail price for them. The way it was explained is that it has something to do with how the warrenty works. They pull what the system came with and then put in the new device and then the warrenty for that part is through Xotic and not through Asus for that part. I wasn't completely sure i agreed with it, but that is how it is. They are taking on extra risk with installing a new component and providing the warrenty for it.

That is also why upgrades cost so much more. I believe that the pricing is completely different since the Sagers are completely custom.

I got my an OEM SSD to avoid the high retail cost and to keep the 500 GB as an external drive.

Just keep an eye out for the warrenty on the SSD. I have seenthem range from 1 year to 5 year when you buy them alone to add

Normally I would agree with you about some of the upgrades, but in terms of the SSD, well everyone so far that has purchased one one their own to install had run into issues on this forum. I too would like to keep the 500g for a backup buy honestly those are cheap drives to buy and by getting Xotic to put it in and load the OS etc etc saves a LOT of hassle and the potential to void a warranty somewhere along the installation process.

Yes, I am a tech savy person and I'm involved with IT, but I know that warranty's generally comes with people looking for a reason to not honor them. Now I am in no way saying XoticPC would do this, but I have dealt with a LOT of companies in my years in IT and anytime I've tried to get warranty service it seems common place for companies to blame you first for any issues you have and look for any reason to not honor warranty service or replacement.

Save yourself the hassle and let Xotic do it for you.

I, too, am a tech-savvy person and am involved in areas of IT, but will have to disagree with you. I would say if you are too squeamish to do these things, have xotic do it for you. But if you have no problems doing these things, do it yourself.

As for warranty of drives, I've dealt with that, too. Platter-based hard drive manufacturers will replace your RMA'd drive with a brand-new drive. As soon as they receive them, they ship out a new one. I've dealt with Seagate a couple of times on many drives and they make the RMA process easy and ship the new drives in well-padded containers vs the poor packaging you'd see from places like Newegg, Tigerdirect, etc... I've also dealt with Intel when they released their SSD-killing firmware. Intel did a great job to ship me a new one after they received my RMA'd one. I'm not sure if SSD manufacturers will ship you a refurbished drive, but I highly doubt it due to the wear and reduced life on used SSDs.

I am willing and capable of doing the upgrades, but I look at the time vs money vs hassle. Also I look at the future, if something goes wrong I don't have to worry about anyone trying to get out of any warranty service. And I'll be honest, I do this stuff all day long and having to do it for my own laptop is more then I want to mess with, I want it to be ready to roll when it hits my door, I don't want to have to back everything up, ghost the drive, uninstall/install new drive, update firmware, potentially need to troubleshoot any issues, then reload the drive with the OS and again potentially need to troubleshoot any issues.

If it was a desktop I wouldn't have any issues doing everything myself (I build my own anyway) but with a laptop installation and troubleshooting is just more of a pain than I'm willing to invest.

I quit and got none of those benefits, just got fat as hell. Figured the fat was going to kill me quicker.....but seriously, we are waaaaaaaaaaay off topic here. I drive for a living and my family wants to take trips (me driving all over hell's creation) me I would rather fly or sit at my house, which I rarely get to do. (currently in macon,ga) So. i get why you guys who work on puters for a living don't want to mess with it. I was planning on wiping 500 gb and put into my ps3 or give to my gf to put in her laptop with only a 320 g 5400rpm in it now.

I could see changing A1 pre-orders to A2's having a negative affect on the original A2 order list, potentially bumping people that ordered an A2 first further down the list...I was chiding people for complaining(my bad) about bad customer service practices and I may have been out of line. I ordered the A2 specifically for the reason of not wanting to compete with Blu-Ray orders; yet here I am, apparently competing with Blu-Ray orders:eeek2:

If I'm not mistaken, the G73 orders are worked as a pool rather than as individual models (since the only diff is the BR). Ramboky ordered an A1 (early Jan) and switched to an A2 BUT they added a BR player for him so it was essentially an A1. Not the same BR player but similar.

As for the competition (which I don't think this is but time will tell), well, that's why I didn't publicly come out an announce the email I got about switching. In any case, it appears that there must be way more A2's out there than A1's.

I've switching to an A2 with the 6200 and Blu-ray...which makes it essentially an A1.

Hopefully everyone who got this e-mail has replied since the ball will only start rolling once all replies are in.

If your wanting an A1 you are going to be waiting for a long time. Probably another month or more. ASUS is allocating more A2's than A1's hence :XPCS: asking most of us to switch. You can make an A1 out of an A2 for around 25 bucks more(BR option). I was told it is a better drive as well.

Braeyn
03-20-2010, 11:29 AM
Lol... UMI, you're a forum whore. I got the whole A2 email as well and I did reply. Though mine was listed as Batch 2 specifically. If I end up getting an a2 I asked for BluRay, the 6200, and for them to test the ram, keyboard, and the screensaver BSOD. A1s seem to have had a lower failure rate, though that could just be the second batch of g73s in general.

Lol... No. As UMI said earlier... they are treating all the g73s as one pool regardless of the model. So, It is almost as if they are treating them as barebones and just going strictly on order number and position in queue. If those of us that ordered A1s say no to the switch, then they move on to the next person in line. It is not an A1 favortism thing.
Not to mention you could shoot them an email letting them know you will take whichever model comes in first. That's what most of us did. I'm sure that if all the sudden they have an abundance of a1s available and customers willing to pay for the upgrade, they would make that switch available.

Patience I have since I've been using an HP running Vista on 2 gigs of RAM for the past 3 years (my friends wonder how I can play Borderlands on 1 fps). In any case, just wanted to give a heads up that from last I heard, any order going in like, last friday should be filled end May early June.

Who knows? I really expect the orders filled to start rapidly increasing but all a guess.

Lets hope that's the case Powerpack. I do wish that these shipments from Asus become more frequent and of bigger proportion. Having bought this Laptop yesterday, I'm hoping and guessing to have it in my hands in hopefully 3 weeks, seeing as were getting a shipment the 24th? the 28th? and hopefully early on in April which would cover me.

When did you order yours? 1st page shows you ordering on the 10th?
I found it from a different retailer who offered in-store pickup.

I got my A1 Friday but had to work so I'm just now getting to enjoy it. This thing is a beast! I'm getting frame rates as high as my old desktop 8800GT... but this thing runs a lot cooler. It gets warm but doesn't keep me from playing it on my lap. Awesome! I hope you guys get yours soon. Good luck!

I wish we would! I'm pretty sure that at this point they've done the last shipment. Now we have to wait for the 24th shipment (3/24) to get trucked to Xotic.

Actually, the next G73 shipment is scheduled to arrive in the US, tommorow (3/23) :D
Hopefully my order will be in it too :)

Regardless of when it arrives in the US, it won't get to Xotic right away. They get to the US, go through customs, go to ASUS in California, then out to the resellers.

It means that if I want to have a A2 it is there for me to purchase. The A1 I originally wanted will not be coming in for some time.

I don't know where you're getting your info, but the A2s aren't in stock. You can purchase it sure, but you'd be waiting still like all the rest of us A2 people waiting on theirs.
